  1. Some people on here are some serious wet-blankets. Ya'll must be MISERABLE to hang out with. That said that's your opinion and I'm all for having one of those so heres mine........ Get over it. Its not "wrong" to use a Z or a Mopar' date=' whatever.. for drifting, dragging, autoxing, WHATEVER. If someone wants to buy/build/and use a car to their liking, so be it. Personally the last thing I want to see is another Barret Jackson sale ready resto-rod or a gutted/tubbed/caged drag mopar. Classic formula that works, but theres nothing wrong with something different.

As for the car, Im not sure... it looks pretty cool but the wheels are, meh. Would be cool to see some videos of it.[/quote']

  2. Just got an email back from James, here is what he said. Hoping that this will go somewhere soon...

mark is working on the drawings for the prototype unit and hopefully we will have some solid information towards the end of this week - we are getting ready to make another run of the VG to SR plates and are going to do our best to include some KA and L Series in this batch as well

  3. You know i really had no problems with juan at all i picked up his 240sx rear brake upgrade from his personal car some time ago, his communication was great. And I emailed him not that long ago inquiring about a fuel rail, he replied promptly, then I ended up needing a new spacer for my throttle body, I email him and he still had one I had it in my hands in 7 days. and that was a week ago. I was although sad to hear about him getting out of the datsun game...

  4. Sounds almost as bad as mine... I flew to Idaho, from manitoba, back when I was looking for a Z. I found a 280Zt the guy said, no rust the car runs great, just needs some paint (all faded), interior. Ya I get there no problems see the car, look it over, everything is in order, no real rust. So I am like I wanna take it for a drive. I hop in and this thing runs like absolute ****... Quite undriveable. I had planned on driving it home. Ya so I like you ended up passing on the car. And flying home empty handed and pocketed...

Oh well was all for the better, a month later I came apon my 260. That was a much better expereance. Ended up borrowing my friend truck (Chev Full size 4x4) and a u-haul trailer (complete crap) and dragging it down to Denver, after work on a Friday and made it home for supper on Sunday with the car... The only bad is that my codriver and i had no sleep for 52hours... I will never do that again.

  5. 73Turbo240z - The bumper could be easily mounted with nothing behind... Just by bolting it to the headlight buckets and making a bracket to the middle...but that made me feel some what nervous, knowing the drivers here in Manitoba :S... So I cut the ends off the factory 260 bumper (just after the vertical parts on either side, if that makes sense), then drained the oil out of the shocks to bring it in close to the body. I know I know but I figure it may save some of my front end in a small fender bender... I would guess that a stock 240 bumper would fit behind no problem... but that is what i figure from the pictures...

Just one other thing about this bumper... It is great looking but the quality is... OK, not great, but OK... We had to reinforce a few areas because they were already starting to crack. This is before it was even fitted...

ToplessZ - You are right that is the center of a 3-pice... but the 2 ends didn't line up at all. So we rounded off the ends and that is what you see. I didn't like it at first but it makes the rear of the car more aggressive with out the sides.

Sparky - Thanks soo much, I actually just got it home from the body shop yesterday, but I am taking a week of vacation time to get as much done as I can next week... I would love to see it driving by the end of the month... but as long as it is by the end of next i will be very happy.

  6. I just found that it will bolt up but the front bearing carrier is larger and would have to be machined larger... now is the input shaft the same length?

Here is the reason, I am thinking of the T56. The one used as a upgrade for mustangs is usually the .63 6th. Now as an upgrade for the Mustang you can pickup a T56 with a slightly longer input shaft and an adapter plate the bolts the trans to the bell housing. Now if this is the case then the upgrade seems more reasonable, at least when you compare it to the G-Force upgrade at 2500.

  7. From my searches it seems that it is possible that a mustang T5 would bolt up to the Nissan Bell housing. Is this the case? I know that you would need to do a custom clutch and driveshaft, but what i am wondering is if it would bolt up and if the input shaft is the correct length.

  8. In all the times I've used an inline pulse generator it has never functioned as intended. My applications were requiring the 40 pulse for a GM OBDII ECM (V6 and V8 engines). I ended up modifying the tranny to accept a reluctor gear and VSS. That said, there is a simple generator which consist of a magnet glued to the driveshaft and a small coil located on a bracket which creates a pulse each rotation on the shaft. It works well with an electronic speedo and you can cap the cable output on the tranny. I'll try to figure out where I purchased mine if there is interest. I do have an unused one somewhere in the garage too that I'd sell. It's just a thought...

That sounds really good actually. If you find yours I would be very interested, or just let me know where you picked it up. I was thinking that would probably be the cheap and easy solution. Other wise I may have to take aux's advice, witch doesn't seem that bad either.
