yeah' date=' but my unanswered question is do you have to cut or expost a wire to test it, or could you simple unplug a connector and test the pins?

You can test the pins.

The cowl looks great. It's one of those mods you probably wouldn't notice until it was pointed out; it looks factory.
-
You do realize now that after posting all of this great stuff you stole, you're expected to assemble it into something that makes people stop and stare. No big deal if you get a killer deal and then never finish it...

"Man' date=' grump, I would hate to go hunting with you"
WHY? is a 458 LOTT.. loaded with 600 grain soft points too much for whitetail deer????
JUST KIDDING, I use a 358 winchester BLR
but if YOUR having trouble knocking them down TRY THIS

You could always use a cannon to hunt whitetail....

Where did you get your clay? I've been looking for some locally I haven't found anyone that supplies modeling clay in large quantities.
Looking good, be sure to keep all of us updated

I got a catalog for nothing but shop equipment and tools from Summit with my last order. I haven't had a chance to comb through it, but the prices seemed decent.

Subtle it is not...looks completely wicked!
Did you just pull a Yoda?
That thing just looks evil. Awesome.

I'm really liking the stripes on the front of the hood. They turned out very nice.

This will help keep everyone from commenting about the wires hanging down in the passenger side floorboard.
I guess this must be another one of those Z problems that everyone seems to have.
Your timing is awesome, I was thinking about doing something similar to this last night and your progress is definitely an inspiration.

ItThe yellow one was built by a guy name The Fishman. I remember seeing on on some crappy (hehe get it) car show years ago. His daily driver is an suv with fish tanks in the windows.

I was changing the brake pads on my 280ZX and they don't have the brake pad shims shown in the Hayne's manual. Are they critical for the performance and safety of the brake system, or just used to stop squeeling (which I can tolerate for at least a while)? I've searched on here and didn't find a conclusive answer. If worse comes to worse, I have a parts car I can pull them off of, but I'm in a bit of a time crunch right now.

Wow, guess I'm the only one that didn't go with a kid...
Great movie anyways!

Gotta love the pics of it sliding around those corners.

Looking good. I was going to try and do the same thing this week before I take my car to the road course this Saturday. What thickness metal did you use?
-
If you're going to just do a respray and keep the original color, and want to get on the road as soon as possible, you can keep the body together. Otherwise, pulling it apart is the best option. It's easier to get into the small parts that way and if you're doing a color change it's the only way to really get your jams done right. Whatever you do, be sure to post up pics as you go along

Right now I have neither on my z. The a/c was removed when I got it, but that's what t-tops are for.
Colorado winter mornings can be pretty miserable without a heater but you learn to cope.

I'm making a shroud for mine out of aluminum to provide both a clean way to mount it and to increase the airflow through it. I'll post pics when I'm further along. I got the 16" and it pulls like none other. I was pleasantly surprised.

One of the most awesome videos I've ever seen.
That would have been one helluvan adrenaline rush

Did anyone else see that it was listed on the Los Angeles craigslist, but the location was newnan, GA? Makes it kind of tough to take a look at...

Can you set a L aside for me if you still have one? I'll get you the money on Friday.

I'm not an expert on injectors (or anything else motor related for that matter) but it sounds a little fishy to me.
-
It's looking great, but I don't think anyone would expect any less from one of your projects.
Again, what thickness did you use for that?

This is why people are afraid of our site' date=' people jump all over thier @sses.

I for one think this is one of the more civilized sites I've come across. There's very little bashing, trash talking and bickering that goes on. Let's try and keep it that way.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread....

From the sound of it, you may have a bad battery, but I would think the alternator is a more likely suspect. You also could have a shorted wire somewhere that's draining the battery as it sits.
No matter what it is, that's a very nice score.
Here's how I'm going to paint my Z

I agree. It doesn't look right with the white and th orange doesn't go too well either.
My girlfriend was reading over my shoulder and thought it said 24 oz.
