  1. My work is good... it's my driving that isn't. Everytime I drive my Z, I am VERY hard on it...
  2. Yep... but again, it's only worth what someone will pay. If it's someone's last dying wish to own a Z, they may pay $100k for it. Someone else may offer $500.
  3. Is $4500 a good deal? I got my rust free 70 240Z for $500. It all depends on what it's worth to you.
  4. When dealing with turbochargers: cheap = prone to fail Take it to a turbo shop. Call around, get the best price... you know what to do.
  5. Hardware stores don't carry turbocharger parts... not too many turbos in homes these days.
  6. Shady, here's a link about using a Honda temp switch to turn on a fan... it may also work as a stock sensor replacement: http://www.jrdemers.com/280ZX/overheat/overbase.html
  7. If the Ford / Chevy one puts out the same ohms at the same temps, it should work... and if they are threaded the same, or at least the same depth so it will be reading the temp in the correct location. Funny that I'm the first to respond to this Shady!
  8. 84-86 Z31T ecu's will work. 87-89 were programmed differently. You can still use the latter, but you will have to make changes from the 84-86 ecu write up.
  9. Yes and no... You CAN install it using your stock AFM, but it's MUCH less effective. LifeGrdDude did a writeup on ZDriver about installing & using the SAFC on a Z31 ecu setup: http://www.zdriver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17290 Note: this is for a turbocharged 280zx.
  10. Check all the basics... spark plugs & wires, cap & rotor, timing, vac lines, sensor connections, cold start valve, air regulator, etc etc etc... Your spark plug tips will usually tell you whats going on... running too rich or too lean, one cyl not firing...
  11. If you get an 82-83 280zxt distrib, you just swap chopper wheels. The n/a distrib isn't big enough to fit the CAS into... so buy an 82-83 dizzy & you'll be set.
  12. Just get an 82-83 turbo distrib... then you don't have to modify anything.
  13. Z cars don't have clutch cables... they have hydraulic master & slave cylinders. The car will still start w/o the clutch pressed, but it should jerk forward if it's in gear. As for floor pans & body work... it's never "easy" but the difficulty depends on your skill level.
  14. Don't buy turbochargers on ebay... they are cheap for a reason.
  15. It's an Aussie car... and I'm assuming Adelaide is the Adelaide in Australia... you might want to ask around the local Z clubs too.
  16. The same place you get all Z parts: http://www.thezstore.com http://www.blackdragonauto.com
  17. http://www.car-parts.com and http://www.ebay.com are your two big sources for j-yard parts.
  18. Nice! but does that Audi have an S4 badge on it???
  19. sweet sweet powdercoating.... I loves it so. Long gone are the days of rattle can painting engine parts.
  20. ^^^ third on that crappy ass porting job. Take it to a local turbo shop & have them look at it.
  21. Apparently he's not using a spacer... or if he is, the spacer doesn't have a wide enough bore.
  22. Zguy, awesome spreadsheet.... deffinately good info that I will be using to tune my engine. PS... Nismo619: You still owe WreckedJ30 a Z31T ecu or $$$.
  23. Actually... just to clarify.... xtreme didn't follow the instructions & wired things INCORRECTLY. But thanks for the "retarded" part.
