Thanks for the ideas. Modification of the bumper might end up being a pricey solution because I would like to maintain a chrome finish.
Running the exhaust out of these holes would be something different.
I guess I'll leave it for now and see how the bumper fits when I take the car down.
Next I will be practicing on body soldering. Let's see if it goes well enough so I dare to share some pics of the result.
Try a 2+2 rear bumper, they are wider. Would be easier to cut down to size if necessary.

Other threads in the past have mentioned the use of vw beetle/bug fenders cut down, and a mention of nissan frontier truck flares have come up. I have never seen either utilized and this could just have been pure conjecture.
Coincidentally I found this Z with VW Beetle arches the other day, then found this thread. Have been looking at flared/widebody Z's recently.

Nissan did a modification like this, it was called the 280zx body.
Nissan also gave it a try with the A550X

Thats like saying Canada and America are the same
They are, aren't they? apart from that french part

It used to be called oztion.com.au but has changed to quicksales.com.au after being bought out by the carsales/bikesales/boatsales etc owners.
If that's the one you are thinking of.

Haha, I have a roof skin sitting in a box waiting for me to put it on the car when I get started, so don't worry about that.
It's just easier to have glass windows. Lexan doesn't fit well and won't slide easily and I still want to have working windows that don't leak. It is still a road car so I don't want to go too insane with it.
I am unsure of the legality of plastic side windows, I just want working windows is all.
I drove around with a sheet of plastic from bunnings as a side window on my daily driver (old honda accord coupe) for a couple of years with no issues from the police. You wouldn't notice it was plastic. Didn't wind it up or down though. Even locked my keys in the car once and tried to kick it in to get in the car, but it wouldn't break, not like the glass did the first time

how do you get *IN* that thing??
With a hover board of course.

Hey Jmead, looks like the 240Z you built is for sale again. Looks a little different than when you sold it though.

Why don't you just buy one, they've been around for years.

The seals are not blown. I ran the car today with noi smoke. I am still overboosting like crazy. But i went under the car and there are 2 vaccum nipples right on the side of the turbo and they are not connected to anything
They should be connected to the waste gate actuator right? That would be the problem.

dude, unless you where around z's when they first came out and fallowed them until today and made a note of every dealer and factory option, you are never going to be 100% certain about it, quit trying to start crap with other users.
Well I was only a kid when the Z came out, but I know enough to call bullshit on ignorant statements like the ones about the mirrors. But if your happy to be a misinformed ignoramus don't let me stop you.

You could make 2 molds if you can be bothered. First of the 2+2 version. Make one set for your car. Then modify the rears to suit a 2 seater and remold them.

not stock for the 240z pictured
Wrong again. Wanna try for 3 out of 3?
-
those arnt stock fairlady mirrors. ebay has JDM fairlady mirrors for about $300, theres celica ect mirrors and various knocks offs floating around too. just depends on how much you want to spend on mirrors
You don't know what your talking about.
They are stock fairlady mirrors.
The ones you are thinking of are early mirrors.
Those are stock late model mirrors circa 1977.

I drill a hole in the end of the bolt and hammer an appropriate sized, cut off Allen key into it. Then get a wrench onto it.
-
You don't want power assisted brakes?
-
Whats a drover?
Its aussie for cowboy.

Yep alot of 240z have them. Theres lead filling in those spots which cracks when the body flexes.
-
Did you get those wheel locknuts off? I had the same problem. I just cut a slot across them with an angle grinder and used a length of flat bar steel and an adjustable wrench for leverage.
