  1. Apparently I suck at searching! Guess it's easier to find something if you've posted in the thread Thanks a lot !!! I was worried as the zip-lock with the studs had a hole, and I found a loose stud in the box. Normally that would be fine except for the hole USPS put in the box !!! luckily the one loose one didn't fall out !
  2. I counted 20 possible holes on the 3 heads I have. I currently don't have any manifolds on any of them. I just bought a pallnet stud kit from a guy and there are only 15 studs.... From what I can find there should be 17? is that correct? Thanks, Adam PS. i've looked through the FSM, searched here and all over.... no one really posts HOW MANY studs... not even a clear answer on pallnet's site!
  3. Yeesh, body work is just that, WORK I just went by the local paint supply place..... I think i'm going with a 2007 VW Magma Orange color : What do you guys think? Plz don't bash for the VW pic
  4. The Rustseal tech confirmed that the rust sealer of you choice should always be applied directly to the metal. I only have a couple spots that need touch up in the engine bay so sanding shouldn't be a huge issue. body work sucks.
  5. I didn't think the rustseal would like to stick to the filler. I'll give them a call today and see what their techs say and report back!
  6. Like the tittle says. I searched their site and can't find any clue. Just sand blasted my engine bay and have a couple pin holes and such. I want to seal them and fill them in. Thanks! Adam
  7. I cut up a hood from a Jeep Cherokee Freeeeee, Right gauge, mainly flat, and already zinc coated!
  8. Will the rustseal/por15 hold up to the heat from welding? I was afraid that I would just be wasting material if I pre-painted it, then welded it. I'll give it a go and see what happens.
  9. I was going to buy a new 4x8 sheet of 18 gauge mild steel to use for some of my repairs. BUT instead I decided that since i have a couple parts vehicles at my parents house i'm just going to cut what I need off a hood from a Jeep cherokee I have a full RustSeal kit for when I finish the engine bay and floors, but what should i spray on the backside of the patch pieces on the rest of the body. Would a weldable primer work to prevent rust on the new panels in the future? I just want to do this rust repair once, not again in a year! Thanks, Adam
  10. Well, here are some pics i took before work this morning. The fan fits really well without the engine. i don't know if it will fit at all one the motor goes back in. the fan is about 5" thick. The stock clutch fan and shroud are pretty thin at 3-3.5" as previously mentioned. i'll let you know once the motor goes back in! i will be cutting out most of the radiator supports in my car since they are rusted and will be replaced with some DOM tubing. I might move the rad forward at that time for more clearance?
  11. Can you get a measurement from the rad coils to whatever sticks out the furthest from the engine? I can easily put the rad back in the car, but i'm not bolting the engine back up to take some pics for ya Adam
  12. I'm not running one yet, but I've had one laying around that was going to go in a rock crawling Xj. Couldn't get it fit in the xj. I put it up against the Z rad last night and it looks VERY promising. The shroud almost covers the entire rad. I don't know about the water pump clearance yet at the engine bay is stripped. Planning to have MS control the fan or a thermal switch? Later, Adam
  13. Ah! Very cool !! I searched around for about an hour last night for Fl Z clubs but most seemed to have fizzled out! My Z MIGHT be ready to roll by then, lol. My friend left this morning and headed to Miami to pick up a complete (-dizzy, going DIS nehow) 83 turbo motor. Once I get my huge compressor together (will be going out and flipping the switch for the first time tonight) I can start plasma cutting on the body to remove the cancer I have my quart kit of rustseal ready to go after the bandages are applied Do you have a good parts stash at your place? i need a couple little things Thanks, Adam
  14. I'm new to the Z world as I just purchased a 78 black pearl. Needs some rust fixed and a motor since the original dropped a valve on #5. Planning on a 83 28et swap with EDIS and MS.... Good news is that I'm only 45mins away up in Gainesville! Perhaps I just found a new buddy ! Ur project looks sweet btw. love the touch screen. Makes the MS touch screen obsolete ! Later, Adam
