Hello again, still trying to get my car running correctly, My question is I am running the Extra code 3.2.1 on my megasquirt 2 3.0 board, but I assembled the board to the regular assembly instructions on the megasquirt main site. Is this okay or are there differences in the assembly process that would interfere with operation. Should I switch back to the standard code or change the board to reflect the msextra install. Thank you

  4. BLOZ UP I am glad you responeded because I had a question for you. I was looking at the dyno graphs on a z31 site and noticed it said you were using 420cc injectors. Were they they the bosch injectors from the 75 mercedes 450sel? because that is what i am using and i heard they are actually 380cc at 43.5 psi can you confirm thanks. Also I believe that my problem maybe ignition related because of how poorly the engine runs in the 13-14 afr range. and I have calibrated my wideband controller itself as well as in tunerstudio

Well thanks for the reply, I am starting to think that the problem is ignition related because when I get the the AFR's to respectable numbers (13-14) The engine will backfire and lean out under load. I really think that it is my ignition system/settings. I will try swapping my msd coil for oem and read more. Thanks again
  6. Hello everybody I have been trying to the car tuned using ve anlyzer,(240z w/vg30et) after having my old injectors replaced which were leaking. The car is idling nicely albeit at a low afr aound 12:1, pulling 20 inches of vacuum at around 850rpm (no IAC). The problem lies in that every time load is introduced the engine will not rev past 3000 rpm and not really past 1500 rpm under load. My VE map at idle is down to 11-12 to get that rich 12:1 idle (too low ve?). I know i can adjust req fuel and rescale map for better afr's. I have 2 questions the first being what to set my injector dead time to, I had it set at 1.0ms I then bumped it up to 1.3 which seemed to stabilize rpm a little but I am still not sure what to do here. Injectors are bosch 380cc low impedance with using a inj. resistor pack from a 280zx. My second question is about setting fuel pressure, I set the fuel pressure with vac. line unhooked and then turned up the FPR until reaching 43.5 psi (factory spec for these injectors) and then hooked to vacuum dropping it to 37 psi Does this sound legitimate? req fuel is calculated 8.7 ms using alternating/2 squirts. To get it to idle in the 14:1 range pw's were an indicated 1.3 is that too low? I am trying sendspace for file sharing as suggested by another thread hope it works for you.   8. I Need some clarification on injector flow rate. I have fuel injectors from a 1975 Mercedees 450sel, JWT sells with their "450 kit" and says that they are 420cc injectors. When I look up these same injectors online they are rated at 379.9cc @ 43.5psi. Is JWT assuming that you have to increase your fuel pressure to around 50psi?. On my setup I am running these injectors @37psi (stock psi) , so would that essentilay make them around 323cc@37psi?
  9. The alternator cleared fine after I cut the stock motor mount bracket off of the crossmember. My Crank pulley is just under 2 inches from top of crossmember. The tightest clearance would be between the turbo relocation pipe and the steering shaft around 1/2 inch.As far as the motor being the right height I just lowered it as far down as possible after locating transmission mounts, everyhing fits good.I have driven this setup for about a year with the stock ecu with no clearance problems. Now it is Megasquirt time, so I can take advantage of my big turbo.
  10. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the build in progress. I am running megasquirt but it is not tuned yet. As far as the relocation pipe, yeah a little more lag. Most of the lag came when I replaced the turbo with the larger one I am running now.

  16. no known leaks, but i got most of my problems sorted now thanks. cured disconnects with new different serial adapter and scaled down ve table for about 13:1. one problem i dicovered was #4 cyl. the injector o-ring was not fully seated fixing that now. thanks

I Had a question, I added the 1kohm 1/4 watt resistor inline with wire from pin 24 and 12v+, per mobys writeup on diyautotune, I tapped into the 12v source for my wideband could this cause any problems because, my afr #'s dont seem right at idle 9-10. just a thought, really trying to get this thing to run right:banghead: thank again.
  19. 2012-01-08_03.25.06.csv.txt I am trying to find out why tunerstudio keeps going offline line while cranking and under idle/lload as well. I am using Nissan CAS 6-1 optical can someone please tell me if this trigger log looks ok, i have no experience wuth reading these. I added .txt to end of file so forum would let me attach it hope thats not a problem. thank you
  20. hey everybody thank you again for the help on my last problem(timing issue), Now i can run the car starts fine and i have a tune from Bloz up. My problem is that my wideband reads really rich at idle,9-10, I can get it to go up to about 13.5 by cutting req fuel in half (7.9 to 4) I am using 420cc low z injectors with zx resistor pack on a 2960cc v6. when i rev the engine it starts lean misfiring getting between 15-16 afrs, and its about that point that tunerstudio goes offline it also happens during cranking sometimes. From what i have found by looking on various forums and megamanual, is that this looks like a noise problem, i have all grounds for ecu and LC1 bolted to the intake in the same place and i have also run grounds from the battery and alternator to this same spot in an effort to reduce noise messing with the signal from my CAS, does this sound like the right direction to go?. also does this sound like a noise problems to you guys at all?. specs vg30et,stock nissan CAS with 1k resistor pullup, ms2extra aplha 3.2.0, 420cc low z inj. w/zx resistor pack, Lc1 WB thanks for any input on my current problem, i will try to get some attachments/logs for you guys to look at.

  22. thanks for all the info, unfortuneately I dont have any build pics but i could take some of my current setup, the biggest part being turbo relocation pipe, and as far as lots of vg swapped s30's i really dont think there are that many compared to l28et or sbc, but there seem to be a lot more than i thought. thanks again -James
  23. No I do not, do you mean what setup I am using?,I am new to this forum thing. I believe that I am one of the few vg swapped s30's. Here is whats on my car 71 240z: vg30et 7.8:1 t5 trans Holset h1c mercedes 420cc inj. tial 38mm WG generic intercooler 3 inch exhaust ms2 ecu gutted intake plenum Any other info I would be glad to give thanks for all the help so far guys. I will try setting the timing again after work. Here is what I am going to do:set dizzy to srock location set fixed angle to 10 deg. and adjust trigger angle and dizzy until i get 10 deg. on crank timing and then set to use tabl,e sound right?
