  1. I just saw, an hour ago, a replica of Ferrari GTO(red) with Texas license plate, I'm not sure if its a 240Z/260Z/280Z but I'm positive its an S30. It was parked at a Holiday Inn hotel parking lot at Santa Monica, CA next to the 405 freeway. Too bad I didnt have my camera at the time with me.

  2. great find! i like the simple clean appearance. One question, is the hood customized or is that a scarab style hood? Reason being, when i purchased my 240Z, it came with the same exact louvered hood as yours.

  3. How much does one of those mufflers go for? Also' date=' I was looking on the dynomax website and was wondering how the bullet race mufflers were? I figured they wouldn't do much to quiet it down since it's a race muffler but was just wondering if any one else has used one? Thanks

I am currently using the dynomax bullet muffler in my 73 240z turbo, I believed couple of fellow members as well, and it is louder than your average straight thru muffler. I like the way it performs and given my stock set up with a 3" mandrel bend exhaust, my car is boosting 8psi.

  4. I just drove the car tonight to take a friend for a spin. Initial problem was it would idle low and feels like it wants to stall during idle even when the car is hot(180 degrees). Haven't adjusted anything or replaced anything prior to this test run.

Anyway, I basically ran the car hard from dead stop from 1st gear to 4th couple of times to show my friend what my car is all about, I have never ran my car so hard and oddly, it's boosting 8-9lbs but never really adjusted the boost since I dont have a boost controller yet(only 3" mandrel bend exhaust). So parking the car and letting it idle for a minute for a cool down, I noticed that the car is idling PERFECTLY at 20Hg on Vacuum(it was 9-10 before). So I waited for a minute and it just idled perfectly. I am excited.

I'm thinking it was my injectors that was causing the poor idle and they cleared up when I drove the car really hard? Or the throttle blade/body? Any ideas and thoughts about this 'revelation'?

  5. Magnum,

I was wondering if you have resolved your current low idle problem. I do have the same problem on my 81 turbo motor and have been looking for any vacuum leak but havent really found any but considering my bad mileage(15-17 mpg on stock boost), i assumed I have a leak.

    Vinh,

A friend of mine also suggested the same adjustment but have been procrastinating as schedule permits me from fixing the Z.

    Appreciate your help guys

  6. I agree with 260. Look for a donor car or a turbo motor and your life will be much easier and in the end, cheaper. I was in the same position couple of months ago and ended up buying a donor car and saved $$ in the end. As for your question, SEARCH and you shall find lots of answers.

  7. Got my 73 240z with a recent 81 turbo engine swap back last night from Vildini Motorsport and she's running great(knock on wood). They did a 3" mandrel bent exhaust, complete wirings, fuel surge tank and other misc. "while at it" stuff and I cant say enough good things about their service. Friendly and great work. Highly recommendable.

Ive had the car for almost the 2 years now and been plaqued with a steering wheel shaking at 60mph, one of the main reason why I rarely drove the car but when I changed all 4 new tires yesterday, the car is steady as a rock at 60-80mph. I love this car even more now with its new turbo engine!

Anyway, I just want to share my good experience to the forum.

  8. Im definately going this year. I'm hoping for the engine swap to be finished and running by that weekend. If not, I'm definately still going. Hope to meet ya'll there. By the way Tim, would you happen to have some extra stickers or shirts left to bring to the show? I'd love to buy some if you still have them or anybody that is going to the show and can sell it to me. please?
