  1. Nope, it was a perfect fit. The body shop did an excellent shop on fitting it. I think they installed it in an hour or so.
  2. Thank you for the compliment. I'll need to check them out.
  3. I'm completely redoing the entire interior. New carpets, new dash, new center console, new headliner, new steering wheel, new shift boots & knob.
  4. One delay after another, she's finally out of the shop. Front and rear side turn signals removed for smoother look. Front and rear bumper shocks removed. Rear hatch emblems removed. I still have couple of more exterior work but she's pretty much done with exterior. Power antenna needs to be installed and rechrome 240z bumpers. I'm not pleased with the amount of the drop on the car. It has a big gap. I should of gone with 16". Current setup is 1" drop with 205/50/15". I'm planning to switch the tires to Yokohoma 205/55/15" thanks to Discount tires 30 day return policy. Next is to find a good reputable upholstery shop for interior restoration. Here's are some updated pics. I only had my ultra wide angle lens for this shoot so the pics may look bit distorted.
  5. I finally found out MSA and Zcarsource also calls it "Air Regulator". However, Autozone, O'Reilly, NAPA, and couple of other stores locally have no IDEA what I'm talking about......
  6. Hey guys, is there another name for Auxiliary air valve? (1976 280z) I called up few of the local parts store and they "looked" at me funny as if Auxiliary air valve doesn't exist...just because it's not in their system.
  7. Thanks. I think this is the reason why there's two different option on the ECM. My repair guy was telling me that I need an ECM that was for California emission.
  8. Do you know if yours is a California or Federal emission?
  9. I really appreciate you taking the time to take these pics. The car's at the shop so I'll have to check this tomorrow.
  10. I need some help. My stock ECM for 1976 was burnt so I ordered a used one off of ebay. The part number (green color sticker) on the ECM matches the stock. ( A11 600 000) But the pin settings are different. TOP - Stock BOTTOM - eBay replacement Can I use this or do I need to find something with a same pin set?
  11. It's not the fuse box. I need a new Engine Control Module.
  12. Sorry, I was running short and didn't get all the answers I wanted from the owner of the shop. I'm trying to get more info from the actual mechanic.
  13. Anyone know where I can buy a new fuse box for 1976 280z? I tried MSA and couple other online vendors with no luck. I was ready to pick up my car last Friday from the body shop but, the car wouldn’t start. Body shop mechanic looked at it for two days and finally came up with bad fuse box? Could this be the reason why the car won’t start? The battery has a good charge and it’s only couple of months old with all new cables and contacts. (All cables have good contacts)
  14. I tried doing a search but, the site keeps crashing on me when doing a search function. I'm ready to install the 240z bumpers on my 280z and was wondering if the current bumper shocks need to be removed or kept on. Thanks.
  15. The insurance company settled with me despite getting a hold of their client. The insurance company could not even get a hold of them or get a return phone, email or fax. Luckily I had two witnesses who was with me when the transporter made the delivery and stated he damaged the car during the transport. It costed me time and frustration but, the insurance settlement was well worth it. I went with Complete Collision in Carrolton. So far, they're doing a great job.
  16. I've been gone for a while. Here are some updated pics. She's been stripped, sanded and repainted so far. All the old badges and side door chrome trims removed and filled. Front and rear side turn signals removed and filled. She's getting a 240z euro bumper rechromed and installed. All new weather strips will be installed and front carbon fiber BRE airdam ready to be installed soon.
  17. Open container. Just make sure they are insured and it's up to date. My situation wouldn't of mattered if it was open or closed container. It was the driver's error.
  18. Not the style and the look I'm going for. Well, I just received the last puzzle to the entire restoration (Interior and basic bolt on performance). I just need the hatch repaired and painted so I can start the restoration! 19. Its past the 30 days since Crusader insurance informed me that they will need to follow up with their insurer and do some investigation. Well, Crusader insurance is not able to get a hold of their insurer. And as of today, the car is still sitting in the garage waiting for the insurance settlement. Crusader insurance did have an independent 3rd party adjuster come out and do an estimate on the repair. ($2,245 total) So far, I had two body shop repair estimates, one body shop quoted me $2,625 and the second shop quoted me $2,750. Crusader insurance wants to settle for $2,500. Crusader insurance said this is for the repair cost and for lost time compensation. How the heck can they offer me less than what the body shops are quoting me? Crusader’s quote, “You should negotiate with the body shops. Our adjusters quote is very reasonable.” I laughed at them. So, this is where I’m at so far.
  20. Oh ok. I didn't know that you could start the car without depressing the clutch pedal like the modern day manuals. Thanks guys.
  21. I have a 76 280z with a strange problem. All stock. It's a 4 speed manual but I can start the car just by turning the ignition. I don't even have to press the clutch. I recently had the master, slave clutch cylinder and the alternator replaced. I noticed the problem after installing the new alternator. Anyone know what the problem is?
  22. Here's the long story, if anyone wants to read about it. On 10/23/09, I hired Direct Express Auto Transport to pick up my car from Los Angeles, CA to Frisco, TX. Direct Express Auto Transport assigned my vehicle to Alborz Trucking on 10/23/09. Alborz trucking repeatedly told me they would pick up my car day after day since Monday, 10/26/09. I waited a total of 7 days when the car was ready to be picked up. Fail to pick up my car in 7 days, I called Direct Express Auto Transport and notified them of the problem. Direct Express Auto Transport reassigned my order with Bher Inc. on Monday, 11/2/09. Bher Inc. picked up my car on Monday as scheduled. However, this is where the drama begins. Bher Inc. over promised and under deliver by making false promises. Bher Inc. notified me that they would deliver my car since Friday, November 6th. I waited all day, no car and no phone calls. Received a call next morning stating they had some truck problem (A tire blow out and broken axle) and that it would be delivered on Sunday, November 8th. Once again, I waited all day and no phone call. Again on Monday, November 9th, no car, no call. I also made several phone calls to Direct Express Auto Transport of the situation and requested a follow up with Bher Inc. On all calls, I've asked them several times if my car was OK. Bher Inc. told me that my car was fine. When I called Direct Express Auto Transport on Wednesday, November 12th, they said they received a called from Bher Inc. and that my car will be delivered late afternoon or early evening. I waited all afternoon and evening and no car and no call from Bher Inc. I called Bher Inc that evening but this time, the phone number was either disconnected or no longer in service. I received an automated message from the carrier service. ''The person you have called is unavailable and please try again later.'' Myself or Direct Express Auto Transport could not reach anyone. At this time, I was ready to file a stolen vehicle. On Friday, November 13th, I finally received a call from the driver stating that he was in Dallas and that he'll be over in an hour. I rushed home from work to meet the driver. As he pulls in, I see my car in the middle of the lower deck. (I couldn't see the rear hatch) at the time. The driver gets out and tells me he has a bad news...... This is where I was ready to knock his A** out. I was so furious, I had to call the police. If not, I know for sure I would of gotten arrested for assault. So, what should of taken 2 days to deliver, it took 22 frustrating days with a damaged car. After 29 days later....I'm still waiting on the insurance company to send their adjuster to review the damage........tick tock, tick tock.
  23. The transporter company is paying. I'm having hard time finding a good restoration shop in Dallas. That's why I'm asking locals to lead me to a good shop.
