  1. They came with it, but they are 225 60 14. Went for a spirited drive today (first time the roads have been dry for nearly 2 weeks) around some seldom used winding levy roads ... had a BLAST! Hardest I've been on the car since I've owned it and it did everything I asked and expected it to do. I half expected to throw a rod but the l28 is stout and didn't complain one bit. Cornering grip is good even with the crappy tires and massive sidewalls. Higher speed maneuvering and small adjustments leave the car feeling a bit unsettled and slightly unpredictable. I believe that a full bushing kit coupled with some better tires/rims will mostly cure that. The open diff is another major limitation... LSD isn't just a desire but mandatory in the cars future. Hit the streets with the supra later - what a difference between these cars. Not only in refinement and power, but the feeling and soul. I enjoy driving them both equally but for different reasons. Pic from earlier... MX-6 is my wife's. She'll get a new car when that dies but that probably wont be for a while. Thing won't quit! That's all for now.
  2. W/ harness and ecu etc? Very interested....
  3. BTW I keep seeing another ORANGE z in elk grove! I saw you today at a stop light... You had a girl in your passenger seat, no louvers, black (primer?) hood and a shiny looking exhaust I was with my wife in her mazda Any idea who this is?
  4. Hey guys! Mostly I've just be driving the car every day to work about 50 miles round trip. I did put some new interior bits and a stereo in... loving driving it - little too much fun in the rain though. Mostly just the hard tires and open diff + light rear end I did just contact beta motor sports about their JZ weld in subframe ($350) and am just a few pay checks away from having enough extra cash for a 1jz complete swap ($2100+ misc) Also getting the Supra ready for daily driver status as the Z will be down for at least a month or two....
  5. Big sway bars are on. What a great improvement in handling! Also put on a grant steering wheel and a nice drivers seat. Got a voltage gauge to replace the amp gauge when I do the swap!
  6. msa replica? not sure got it used. it's fiberglass. Fitment is good but not perfect
  7. The ride is honestly better (?) handling improved, but have some scraping issues now LOL
  8. Took the plunge today and cut 1 coil off the springs, love the way it looks - driving impressions later
  9. Only pic I took today that shows the spoiler... I'll probably snap some more tomorrow.
  10. I got the spoiler on Some notes: Noticeably more stable at freeway speeds. Seems to have more grip on 70-80mph on ramps... might just be my confidence with the car improving though Here is something interesting for those suffering from bad exhaust smells: Driving around with stock bumpers (75) I noticed some smell, not too bad. With NO rear bumper I noticed LESS smell - hardly any. With the thin (240z) bumpers and no spoiler I noticed TERRIBLE exhaust smell at about 35-40mph... it was bad! After I added the spoiler the smell was greatly reduced again. About the same as no bumper or spoiler - not so bad at all for a catless car.
  11. r154 with the short shifter or the factory extension maybe?
  12. Rear bumper is on. Made some simple brackets - looks nice! The spoiler needed a lot of work. It had some pits and cracks, runs in spray paint etc. I sanded it all down and am filling the cracks and pits. Then i'll need to sand it all down again and primer + paint, then install Pics will be up later!
  13. nice. 2jzge motors are so cheap.... like 400 ish around here! what trans are you using?
  14. looks like the 2jzge WILL clear. Why does everyone say it wont?
  15. From personal experience: Dynapaks tend to be the most consistent dyno. Best for hardcore tuning (50+ runs) * They are a bitch to set up and that will cost you, unless you can do it yourself and have friends with a dynapak lol (especially on 4wd cars) * They tend to read higher than most other dynos (dynos aren't great for measuring power, they are for tuning!) * I'd rather use a roller dyno most of the time just cause it's easier!
  16. Love the shaved rear bumper! Any info/tips on how you did that? Would love some pics of that job.
  17. If it was a 75 it would already be in my driveway!
