  1. And because im a model human being, I went ahead and looked it up in the FSM for you to, so it would be more clear to you. go to ENGINE FUEL to section ef-14.

ah, you are ever so nice, and i do in fact have a FSM, ill look it up asap. thank you very much!

  2. i was told that today, there was some sort of fuel pump relay, or some sort of thing that had to deal with getting power to the pump under the dash (in my 78 280)? is this true? i have a FSM, but havent found anything on it. thanks.

  3. Jumpman; you are on the right forum, but you need to post specifics on your car before we can answer anything. A simple description of your car's intake and fuel system would help.

Fuel is very dangerous. It also has a way of spreading around before it ignites and engulfs the entire car. Don't get too creative with plumbing. Stick to factory type fittings and use high-pressure-rated, fuel-injection hose for electronic-injection type systems. If you are replumbing the entire car, then there are some specifics to discuss.

okay cool, well i just need to figure some other stuff out before i get to the fuel cell, my car still isnt even running =[ but thanks for the help!

  4. tank-filter-pump-filter-fuel rail/carb. The project might be a little over your head if you don't know how to plumb fuel lines.

hmmm why would i have to buy a new fuel rail? the billet ones that have a fitting on the end of them?

  5. speaking of this, does anyone know where a thread is on how to install one? not like mount it. but to hook up all the fittings, and what fittings to buy. and would i need to buy a new fuel pump? i got a 10gal RCI cell at a great price, compared to online retailers. but i dont know how to hook it up =[

well i understand that i need a -8 fitting. but i just dont know how to hook that up to the fuel pump.

  6. Put it all back together.

Charge your battery for a few hours.

Does the starter crank the engine over??? Start from there.

Need more facts, and pertinent info. EXAMPLE: WHAT CAR ARE YOU WORKING ON???

sorry i thought i had my car in my sig. but its a 78 280. and no, nothing turns anymore. the only thing i hear is what sounds like a relay clicking over by the fusebox. i hope that answers what you were asking..?

From the title, I thought he had a steering problem.

sorry! i could have titled that a different way i suppose.

  7. well im still having issues with fuel getting the the motor. i bought a new 80 dollar fuel pump relay to hook up and that was supposed to be all i needed to make the car start. well, its not. its actually worse, since the car isnt turning at all anymore. anyone got any ideas to make it turn over/run?

here could be some possible contributors to the problems, just giving as much info as i can.

ive disconnected a lot of interior electrical stuff, radio, overhead light, speakers. the fasten seat belt plug that plugs into the driver side female seatbelt. could any of these be causing my z to not turn? and my dad also things it could be a bad ignition. when you turn the car to the "on" position, the one i think thats before accessory, you can pull the key out.

    any help? thanks.

edit: i also took off the right rear side marker light. there all comming off. and getting filled in!

  8. of course dry ice. i used that when stripping out my 7 to make it my drift car. its a well known process and they started doing cryo-blasting too. they use dry ice in place of a media, its a beautiful thing. look it up on youtube or something.

    Lloyd

whoa whoa, s30 drift car? thats what i wanted to do with my mine. how do they slide?

  9. TWO of them would fit YES.. and the length is fine as well. even ebay cheap ones would work BUT!!

you have to do some cutting to remove one of holes area. itl be bolted down two bolts on each side. still better than having none. instead of a complete circle it would look more like C shaped

but the length of the actual bar itself is correct? because if all i have to do is cut off one of the holes on the bases and make it "c shaped" then thats easy.

Yeah...try a $50 z31 bar from zilvia.net or courtesy.com and see if they work out.

Just kidding...I thought you meant 240sx. A 280zx might be very close.

i did mean 240sx. and i looked up 280zx strut bars, because i also thought theyd be something real close too, but they seemed to be just as expensive as a 280z strut bar, or even more. eliminating my whole saving a few bucks theory.

  10. do you think this would work? like do you think the 3 bolt pattern would be the same? and the bar would be the correct length across? if anything, at least a little longer, so some can get cut off and rewelded if needed.

the reason why i would want to do that instead of just going and buying a cusco bar specifiacally made for the Z... thats like 125 bucks, i could just get a cheap 280sx no name one on ebay for less than half that, and prolly get the rear one included too!

any advice, criticism, insulting, whatever would be appreciated! thanks!:)
