  1. Finally got my 1977 280z running and ready for the road, but have an idle problem. when the car starts it idles at 1000 but as soon as i start driving the rpm jumps up to 2100 and does not drop again untill i stop. Once it hits 2100 it stops climbing, but will not drop unless i stop. If i am moving, and out of gear it runs at 2100, and if i put it in gear, and no gas, the car will push untill it hits 2100 again. Please help, what do i have to change?? Thanks
  2. Hey, my car is finally very close to completion, however i need a set of injectors and have little funds. If anyone has a set of injectors for a 1977 280Z and would sell them to me that would be wonderful.
  3. yeah i got one of the cold heat guns as a promotional thing at home depot. It does work as described and its very kool not to wait for the iron to heat up. But the tip(of the gun) is very sensitive and I broke mine on the third use, and have yet to find a replacement. But if you have small electrical circuits to solder then this is a good tool.
  4. I tested the fusable links with a continuity tester and they are good, however they are old. Should I get new ones anyway?
  5. I bought a 1977 280Z as my first project car, from the local penny saver. After pushing it home, we stated the restoration. My buddy removed the starter to check it out, and replaced it with a NOS starter. When my friend was installing the new starter, he switched 2 of the wires (i dont know which) and when i turned the key to test it out, sparks flew...and nothing happened. All of the electrical would not turn on and turning the key did nothing. It has been over 5 months since this happened, and I have replaced, the ecu and fuel pump relay. All of the fuses are good, and the ignition switch is also good. I have no idea whats going on and dont know what to fix. Can anyone Help me Samwise
  6. wondering if anyone over on the west coast could hit a junk yard for me and grap this relay. I will pay for it, but there are no 75-77 zs over here and that what i need. Thanks if you can
  7. Hey i blew a relay, and they are expensive through motorsport, wondering if anyone had one they would sell me, or could get one from a junker somwhere. Im on the east coast and there arnt many in the yards anymore. its the fuel injector relay, little silver box bout 2 inches by 1 inch and two connectors plug into it. It mounts on the driver side, near the hood pop
  8. Yeah i have a new batery, i think that i fried a wire somwhere but i dont know which...is it possible that the ECU is dead?
  9. After removing the started and installing a new one, my friend that was in charge of the job, wired the started wrong and blew somthing. The dash now has no power and it does not start. Its not the fusable links or any of the main fuses...Does anyone know what was blown??
