  1. hmmm.. I thought it held less. My roomate was going to put the T56 into his S10, but with the 383 he got he came out to not be enough power.
  2. stock t56? what kind of power do you plan to put down?
  3. I have a 302 block sitting in my garage... Rent and bills are paid... that means I have 1200 coming this month for the car. and saving is not a problem This month: The longblock My mustang friend though has been pointing me in the 351 direction based on my wants and needs. Its going in a Z car and theres no better place then here to post my questions.. My setup: Engine, 306 or 351 Forged bottom Boosted(turbo) Water/air intercooled with radiator 5speed trans I want a Streetable car, If I were building a drag only id go totaly different. I want driveable gas mileage. Its a weekend car but my daily sux. and Id like to be able to cruise for less then $100. I want turbo because while not on boost its nice running, easy to drive and not under the strain. I want the motor to be able to handel the boost and the power I want to be able to do more then drag. Whats the point of a 500+hp Datsun.. If I wanted to go ONLY straight Id bought a fox. Besides SBC what would you guys go with.. Everyone and there grandma goes with the chevy.. Time for a change. Hitman?, anyone elese?
  4. I heard that they give some huge lag. carb: http://www.hangar18fabrication.com/blowthru.html http://www.turbomustangs.com/forums/index.php?
  5. my pricing is a bit different, as mine is a 302. Im going to use a blowthrough 750 with a FPR of sorts. Afr 165 - 195. What size turbo are you ging with?
  6. Im putting a 302/TKO(or built T5) into the Z. The motor itself I havent all decided the setup(as it changes constantly). Im thinking AFR's or somthing similar. either stock forged or new bottom end stock or turbo cam( i hear stock is pretty good anyway) im wanting 500hp wheels on pump gas. Maybe more on alch/RF anyway, my questions.. 1. Carb or Efi? Carb is easy to swap, but I have no Idea how to set it up with FPR(although I could figure it out). And EFI would be a bitch to install.(especially with the block I have being carb allready), but super easy to tune. 2. What turbo(s)? Twins looks cool but I want it to clear the steering column(thinking crosover tube). I know it seams vauge, but this is really all im stuck on..
  7. i thought the 93 was the last year for the good bottom end.. and is this for all 5.0s of the year? (truck, van0
  8. it guesses the ammount of fuel to pour by preasure in the manifold..
  9. 74 260 302, AFRs, Custom manifold, blowthrough, single turbo, tko 500 mounts and trans mounts are all im really concerned with
  10. isnt 89-93 forged internals for the mustang? what about the same year for a van??
  11. cant post a comment in any classifieds... wtf?
  12. so as I understand it, starting with a l28e leads nowhere. What if I boost it? Im sorry, ive been searching for the differences between the 2 but my searches allways pull up 2000+ posts not related. second, The RB25 swap is a big part of this forum, in fact there is a disclamer for ALL RBs so search RB25DET or just RB25 and you'll get the awnsers, and posts of people who've done it. Be prepared to spend the $$$ to get the performance you desire. Third, The RB30. being in Aus. it would be easyer for you to get ahold of this then us in the states. They're SOHC over there tho. But the common swap is to put the RB26 head onto the RB30block and weld a spot for a new tensioner. There is a company I belive in NZ that does this, and the last time I spoke with him he said about 3500 for the longblock. If you want to do it yourself they come in a old SUV over there, cant remember the name but its the AUS version of the pathfinder. He clames he started with 460hp with stock RB26turbos in his R33gts and I think is boasting over 1000. Become a member on Skylines down under for more info. search RB30 over there.
  13. I know its a newb post but why dont you swain coat the pistons? Last car that i saw done was $12 a piston and if your wanting safty 72 bucks isnt that big of an investment
  14. Heh! thanks for the response. Its kind of what I was hoping for. As far as the frame goes its pretty good. nothing noticable. Im going to get a sander and probobly start taking the paint off with aircraft remover this weekend. Id like to at least get the body sealed, the interior in and the engine at least in the bay so I can tow it all down to indy when I move in december(before it gets to cold here)
  15. Friends of the family gave me a old famil car of theres. Its a 74 260Z with the motor taken out. The husband bought a L28 and a new interior. only problem... its been sitting for 6 years, and it has a surface rust in small parts on basicaly every pannel. Nothing eaten through but the paint definatly needs to come of. Id say about 3 days of sanding alone, and then some good old fasion krylon lovin till I can afford getting it painted. The interior is out of the car, Then Figuring out 260-280 thing. anyway, is it worth the trouble to invest that much into it? Ive done alot of work with240s and z32s so im not shooting into the dark, but if I have to spend 3k just to get it near up to par, then its not worth it.
