  1. ok i have been reading up on t3/04e and 04b turbos...

i understand that E is more efficient than B, but B spools up quicker...

am i getting this so far? or does this have also to do with AR numbers?

so what would you guys recommend for 300 hp range (+- 50hp).

ive looked at this on ebay

.96 A/R WITH A P TRIM WHEEL. THE BEARING HOUSING IS OIL COOLED ONLY. THE COMPRESSOR WHEEL HAS A 51.6mm INDUCER AND A 70mm BACKWALL. THE COMPRESSOR INLET IS 3", AND THE OUTLET IS 2". PAYMENT DUE TEN DAYS FROM END OF AUCTION.

would this be suitable? if not then what would be just right?

    thanks alot![/img]

  2. ok a quick one...i have priced out some rebuild kits (complete with Pistons, rings, main and rod bearings, thrust washers, jack shaft bearings (if applicable), cam bearings, camshaft, lifters, freeze plugs, gasket set, complete timing kit, and oil pump. - turbo rebuild kit (making my NA into turbo)

    this kit is 650 dollars....

i have been trying to find individual parts...but not much luck...

which way would you go if you were doing rebuiling??...whole kit or one part by part....(over ebay, classifieds etc etc.) im leaning towards the kit but i would feel stupid if sombody said well coulda had all of that for 300 dollars or something....

    thanks all.

  3. ok i see...i read your other posts said that it just has no internals on the dizzy? is that how the setup works? pretty interesting...also is this proper size for the t3/04 turbo that would be required for a z?

3" Inlet Diameter, 2" Outlet, Wet Floating Bearings, 1/8 NPT Oil Inlet, T3 / T4 Footprint

Specs: .57T Garret Compressor Wheel, .50 A/R Compressor, .63 A/R Turbine, this turbo can easily do 25-30 psi.

    Standard T3 ~ T3/T4 Flange, 5 Hole Exhaust Flange

  4. hehe again thanks ill look up the Walbro, and i guess i can keep my NA ECU and harness to run other stuff like guages and lights and all that right?

and get an aftermarket fuel managment :) which i will have to look up whats the best out there, and then the distributor will also have to be aftermarket?.....like i said...i dont have a lump sum of money but i dont care what i spend over time...

    again thanks a bunch....

  5. lol no prob...

i posted on zcar and i said stock zxt ECU and harness and dude said using zxt efi is bad...so clarify that??

so do i still need to buy zxt ECU and Harness even IF i go with an EFI managment system?? and also what brand and type of fuel pump would you suggest i run with ther 370 cc injecots??

tahts two points more ihave to clarify and then ill start shopping!!! YAY!!!

and thanks for all the help man.

  6. haha i didnt bite your head of either...just sounded that way... anyways sorry if it came out wrong. when i said "god" i mean damn will i ever get this right. and when i said "fine" it wasnt the "whatEVER" fine it was like. Ok tahts fine, then ill do this kinda fine...

    ok what about this setup.

    -Stock turbo rebuild kit.

    -zxt exhaust manifold

    -my NA intake manifold

    -t03/04 garret turbo

-p90 head (since mine is p79 with round exhaust ports)

    -1983 zxt AFM

    -zxt distributor

    -60 mm TB from a 240sx

-bigger fuel pump (what would be good to buy??)

    -bigger injectors say 370cc?

    -intercooler

NOW...EFI managment...what do you suggest i go with?? and how does it work do i keep my NA ECU and harness or what the hell?

alls im trying to do is make a list of what i need so i can go pricing out :) again any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

  7. im asking because i got a guy that will sell me

exhaust manifold, ECU, and harness, turbo afm ,and he has the fuel pump....

but if im gonna be running bigger turbo...do stock turbo internals go...this is why i just wanted to keep the boost at stock because i dont know what it can handle...and whats compatible with what...sorry im not a turbo guy...

  8. thank you on answering about doing upgrades right away...i wanted to hear that....

so ill need to get aftermarket pump and injectors and say a t03/04 hybrid...and the rods will be fine with a bigger boost, how bout the stock head gasket and rings and pistons (since im planning on doing a STOCK turbo rebuild) can they handle all that???

ahh damn ill have to get a head now too....:(

  9. well i decided to upgrade my NA 81zx to a turbo zx.

this is what i have planed :

-buy a turbo rebuild kit for the engine (it doesnt come with rods, do i need to change them to run like 10 maybe 12 psi? i know ill need an intercooler)

    -get the turbo exhaust manifold

    -turbo fuel pump and injectors

-turbo itself (just a stock t03)

    -ECU + Harness

    -turbo dizzy

has anybody ever upgraded an NA to a turbo?

reason i am doing this is because turbo zx engines are so rare here that i cannot find a whole turb oengine and just swap it.

thanks for all and any help/
