Nice job! Feels good to do it yourself!

Hello,
I have search the forum for a diagram and explanation of were and how the line lock should be placed on a Z setup. I have replaced the master cylinder with a 280zx (11/15") and replace the stock 240z proportioning valve with the 280zx one. Now I want to add a line lock and adjustable proportioning valvue (APV).
1) I see most people replacing the stock proportioning valuve with the adjustable one. Is that the best way to do it or should the adjustable valve go between the back brakes and the stock proportioning valve?
2) Line lock, should that go between the master cyclinder and the brake sendor valve (before the proportioning valve) on the Front line?
3) What line lock system are people using? Is B&M 46076 Line Lock Launch Control Solenoid Kit worth getting?
Thanks for your help.

When you say the injectors are dead, are the connections corroded or can the injectors be cleaned, then reused? My engine has been sitting for a few years as well.

I used the same 2x3 .125 wall as that was the thinest I could find. But I noticed that you brought them flush with the floor pans. I had mine up about 3/4" in the floor. I like your idea better.
Nice work ...

Spending two weeks in Disney world. This long weekend looking for a car show with some Z's in or around Orlando, any suggestions?

Dragonfly,
It seems like the cap is a little wider than the whole and if I tap on the cap, will I not bend the sides while trying to tap it in?
Thank you, will give it a try.

Hello,
I need to install a new grease cap (not sure what it is called) on one of my 300zx half shafts. (see pics below)
I'm assuming you need to press the cap and then lightly tap it in. Similar to how you install pistons into an engine block. Does anyone have instructions or suggestions on how to do this correctly? Also, what tool(s) do you recommend to install this cap?
Thanks,

EvilC,
Thanks, I sure hope the LS2 will perform. I've always loved the 240z, but it just didn't have the power like a muscel car, so I'm hoping this engine will solve that problem. And from what I have read on this site, everyone is very happy with the performance of the LSx engines. I can't wait to find out.

EvilC,
Thanks for the post, it's comforting to know others are taking longer than expected on their projects. My hats off to all those who stuck with it and completed thier engine swaps or restoration.
Anyone can purchase a new car, but not everyone can create a classic sports car that rivals most new cars in performance and handling.
Thanks for the inspiration, I can wait until my car is finished!

Jon,
If you do not use the crossmember how are you attaching the rear control arms?

Keep it stock, get another Z to modify. One stock and one modified can't have it any better than that.

Congrats! You've done a lot of work to get to this stage, well done!

Smoorenc,
What guages are you putting in? I seem to think that I need more guages than the dash can hold, i.e. in the stock places. I have been looking for guages that have both Oil Pressure/Oil Temp in one guage and then something like Water Temp, Battery Charge in another guage and still be able to get the clock, Tack and Speedo.
Has anyone been able to do this?

Maxtor,
Check out this web link for diff ratio's and what car to look for at the auto wreckers. Then do a search on Quaife or KAAZ or LSD to find out what you need for a posi. Welding the diff will not work on the road or should I say, is not recommended for the road.

Hey, Kim are you going to be at the Canby show this year?
I remember talking to you last year.
Brian
Brian,
As you can see my car is not ready to go to Canby this year. If I can catch a ride down with someone then I will be there, but it doesn't look good right now. Will definitly be there in 2008. Looking forward to some pictures.

Maybe you should all meet at the Canby Car show on June 9th and 10th at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds, Canby Oregon. See the web site for more details:
www.datsunsNW.org click on the events tab and select Canby07 or go right to it from this link: http://www.datsunsnw.org/canby07/index.htm
Lots of very nice 510 and Z's with all kinds of engines.

Can you explain how your using the surge tank works? i.e. are you pumping gas from your gas tank to this surge tank, then pumping the gas to the engine? Why 3 lines?
Thank for any clarification, pics would be nice as well.

Awesome car! Love the way it takes off ....

EvilC, which one did you get. Checked out Baker performance and they varied from $55 to $76 depending on what size you want. Jegs sells them for $69.
