  6. Its a Temec it will hold 440 ft.lb's As for my eng , i really not sure..I guessing horse power.I was going to have it dynoed when i get it togther.
  7. I saw one before ..it was a 427 ford and he did alot of frontend work to make it fit, and yes i bet it would fly.Dont think you could use the stock rear-end,im pretty sure it would blow very fast from the torque of a big block.
  8. Well it will be here in 10 days. That gives me enuff time to finish my eng bay and pait it i hope. Then i will try to have this eng running the week of 11-15 of Apr, i took a week off to work on it and mabey it it fired up.
  9. Well im going to order it monday!! has anyone tried it yet?I been looking for a 6 speed for my car and i think this might be the ticket.Let me know what you think?
  10. 240z's are allso have very poor fuse blocks , make sure your fuse holder for that side headlamp is clean and that is fuse is good, dont just look at it though, i had one headlamp that would light up dimmer than the other one and it truned out to be the fuse for that side was pop'd under the endcover of the fuse and the little power i was getting to that side was feedback from the other side that was good still.I put a new fuse in and it worked again .
  11. I belive you allready found it "The Shunt" is the first place i would look , im not really sure how the item works but i do know it has something to do with the Ampmeter showing Charge or Discharge. The book says there are two 3 amp fuses in there. I would take the cap off and make sure the fuse holders are clean and then replace the fuses. Or i guess it could be the voltage reg itself, did you replace it yet?I might be wrong but i think the book means teh Shunt works the amp guage. but not sure? Im pretty sure someone will chime in on this has more info than i . i dont have the stock charging sys on my car anymore. G/L Rob P
  12. ok after hours of doing this i have come up with some notes of my own, and i would like to add them ( this the painless 18 cir) i did pic's so here they are This one is of the head lamps swicth , have not got ot wipers yet.. This is of the trun/ h/l beam swicth with horn. I have not got to the wipers yet , i will work on that tomm night mabey. right now im just so happy they work ( lights and truns) i noticed the way you had your trun wires hooked up that when you hit your brakes your front truns would act like brakes also . well i got around that with mine by useing the wht 918 and hooking to the Grn/yl on the stock wires, then i moved the Lt Blu 926 and the blu 925 to the stock grn/red and Grn/blk on the stock plug and left the yellow 949 hooked to wht/red and the Grn 948 to Wht/Blk this way when i hit my brakes only my brakes light come on and the rest works normal. AnyHoot i hopes this helps some .. i dont know ... LaterZzzz (edit) i did not run a 4-way emg flasher this is without that) hated that push/pull thing on my dash)
  13. I really think a proper tuned 650 DP with 50cc Holley Accelerator Pump Conversion Kits in front and back. I had a worked over 650 DP on my 302 for a very long time and loved that card , But i have a buddy that knows those carbs in/out and he tuned it to my car and its needs. I would stick to a 650 or larger just becuase sure a 600 could feed it but long times of WOT a 600 would starve a 350 with some hop ups done to it and its allways better to run a little on the rich side than lean.. Anyhoot just my 2 cents laterZzz
  14. yea i printed that post out that you made , very nice but i just hate looking at all those wires lol that are left over. Think i have the headlamps down and the truns mabey . but im still tring to figure out the wipers, has anyone got this one yet?If not i will write down what i find and post it . just going to take time .Not use to this car wiring stuff lol . i know 480 volt motors and house stuff but this 6 wires comming out of one swicth to run 3 speeds on a wiper motor is kinda strange to me Anyhoot LaterZzz
  15. thats what that the frame was boxed for was the 82 5.0 when i had that eng in there but works well with the newer 86-93 shortys. As for the filter it needs no movment fits very well on the eng .
  16. Have some ?'s about this mabey someone can help .. I know that the two red wires are the high/low beam wires , but is that black a common ground ?what should i connect it too? i know it hooks up to that big black one and i guess its a ground? And this wire has me all messed up . i allready found the two wires that do to my brake swicth but this one is in the colum wires .Not even sure what to do with it ? any help would be way cool . laterZzz
  17. Here are some pic's of my mounts and mod cross member. When i have a chance i will roll it out of my garage and steam it off and take better pic's. This is my drivers side mount This is my pass side , as you can see the frame rail had to be reboxed for the shorty headers i wanted to run. My dirty crossmember lol . The center had to be removed and redone to fit the front slump of the 93 5.0. as i said before i will steam it off and get clear pic's mabey this week and replace these. LaterZzz
  18. Man im pulling whats left of my hair out on this painless kit lol . I been reading all the post on it and im having a heck of a time on that colum swicth. I would like my wipers to work and there driving me nuts.As for the head lamps .. well i think i have that down but im not sure about that center black wire that comes out of that high/low beam swicth, is that a ground? it is black and goes in to the little black set of wires that plug into each other between the head/ trun swicthes.
  19. If anyone has any real bad time finding a part that they must have , just drop me a note.the local wrecking yard has Z all the time here and sometime you would be surprised how good shape they are....shame... laterZzzz
  20. Heya all , yea those are Flow-tech shortys for 86-93 and no they do not fit without doing work to your right-side frame, the left side is ok so far but i have not installed my steering coleum so im not sure about the shaft yet if it will clear the headers but it looks ok , i will keep you informed about that .On that right side frame rail you have to cut back about 1" and down about 3" and rebox it in , it was no prob for me as for im a heavy duty welder repairman by trade , but in all i think it was not that hard of a job .When i get that eng back out i wiull take some pic's of that frame rail and show you all. As for you Troy ..lol np i too love bikes very much and the freedom you get when your out there on the open road. My friends and i all have some and we go on road trips all the time. Here is some pics of the two i own . This is my wifes Bike. and this is me and my bike on one of our trips. AnyHoot i better get back to my wife and little girl , i will talk ta you all laterZzz
  21. There not great pic's but here is a side shot of my eng, My chrome 1 wire alt has not got here yet so please forgive that ulgy alt sitting on it... Here is my first test fit i did with the new stuff on the eng.If you notice you will see the motormount plates that where welded on the frame rails and see how far the eng sits back in the car, i got it far enuff back that the front harmonic baleicer sits on top of the rack for the rack and pinion.when i take it back out i will take better shots of the crossmember and frame rail mounts. LaterZzz Edit ( please forgive my spelling)
  22. i have 2 bike's ..well one is my wife's lol, thats the one you see in that pic.Its a 1990 FZR 400, its cherry with only 4k miles on it and i have a 2000 Ducati 996.I have better pics of them too if you want to see them. As for how my eng fits well it fits great, 1. use a stock 93 oil pan, there a daul slump so the front slump is not that low.Plus my from crossmember is cut out and reboxed to fit it. 2. The motor mount brackets where cut off the fromt crossmember and new plates where welded onto the front frame rails behind the crossmember. I was able to use the stock motormounts from to ford with a little work done to the left side plate that the motormount bolts to then the eng. I also will take some pic's of that and post them. Its all not very hard if you know how to weld some. 3. on the left side frame rail right before it goes under the car i had to cut the frame alittle and rebox it in to fit the shorty headers. 4. I use a stock trans crossmember with a little plate welded to the top of it to move the mount for the trans back, but im redoing that right now to rid of that plate and just blot a stock mount up to the stock crossmember. Right now i been real busy at work so not much time to work on it .that Painless wiring is truning out to be a pain but i know it will be worth it in the end, im having fun tring to figure out all the wiring from the steering colum lol. I have the dash all done and waiting to go back in with all new wiring and new Auto meeter Phatom gauges.they will be white during the day and red at night to macth the red paint. when i get some newer pic's i will post them LaterZzz
  23. And im very happy to find a Z forum that has other z owners with v-8's and even ford v-8 people to boot:) I have had my z for about 12 years now and it has had the ford in it from the start when i bought it.It used to be a 82 HO with 4 speed but i have updated it to a 93 setup with a 5-speed. Now im redoing everything on it body to wiring to the hole car. The eng is a 93 block but i installed a f303 cam with a full trick-flow heads rockers and so . On the top is a tunnel ram with 2-holley 450's. Anyways i looking forward to meeting you all and mabey , i mean i hope to have my car done by the west coast show in LA laterz P.S when i figue out how to post some pic's of her i will Here is couple pics to start with My eng My dash
