seattlejester
I've searched and I've been staring at many many cage builds, but I can't seem to find the information I need. Where is a good replacement for the lower belt mount? My new roll bar mounts cover where the original hole is (Borrowed Picture) I've seen the same location used in many other builds, where are people placing the other harness hole? Would it be acceptable to weld a nut into the cage mount? Or would that put unnecessary constant strain on the cage? Preventing me from painting the inside, please help! 240zBoy
Cage would work IMO. My buddy has the lap section of his harness going to his seat bracket which I don't know is good or not but it definately feels solid. worst come to worst I would just drill a hole in the floor with some high grade bolts. I'm just a diy though and no professional so I am just throwing out ideas haha
seattlejester
Thanks for the suggestion. I know that the seat mounts are actually recommended for late model cars, but not sure about such an old car, but always an option. If it's strong enough for seats, it should be strong enough to hold the person in the seat, right? I think the floor would be a bad idea unless it's heavily reinforced and somehow integrated into the chassis.
