so i'm thinking about dumping the Z for as close to what i paid for it as i can.....AND BUY ANOTHER ONE WITH A BODY IN BETTER CONDITION! then spend some loot on a new v8 and start all over again. what do you guys think? should i keep what i have and just keep plugging along? or restart with a better beginning point? i haven't made lists yet of which will cost me less, but i'm guessing finding a Z from the southwest would be cheaper in the long run...let me know. thanks.

I am assuming that your present car is rusty. If that is the case, lose the current car and find one that is rust-free or as close to rust-free as possible. Any effort to find a clean car will pay off in the long run. Even if you have to spend 2000.00 more for the car, you will be money ahead in the end.

What is the possibility of transferring all of the mechanicals from your car to a good shell? I've seen so many good shells here in SoCal, but the mechanicals,glass and interiors are usually gone or screwed up.

see, i think the engine is good, it's just everything attached to it sucks. i wanted to sell the car completly so that i can get a shell and engine, instead of getting the shell and using the one i have as a parts car. i need the extra money now to work on it and can't afford to have 2 cars. i'm pretty much looking for a body with 0% rust, no damage, decent paint, and half-way decent interior. if anyone knows of a car like this, help would be appreciated. thanks.
