MuhKaydenZ
So I have been looking around a bit and I noticed one of my wires isn't wired up it's the blue one in the picture. Will that affect anything or am I OK without it? (not my pic) I also noticed there is a charge light on the dash is that supposed to be on or off? thanks! NewZed
The blue wire is for the capacitor (aka condenser, the silver tube in the picture) which absorbs electrical noise. The engine will run without it but it's a good idea to have it connected to protect the electronics. The charge light should light up when the key is on but engine not running, and go off when the engine starts.

beermanpete
what does it mean when the charge light stays on? i have this issue with my 77 It means your alternator is not working. Check the charging system for proper operation by following the diagnostic procedure in the factory service manual.
