Jwink25
HI! Can I use my stock 240Z fuel tank, if I drop in a mostly stock 1992 5.0, that has a carb? Will I get enough gas to it? Also, what about the stock fuel lines? Can I retain these as well? This will be a street car...and hopefully a fast one!
fl327
at the very least for your fuel tank you would have to tap it for a return line, and im not sure if it would work well because the tanks for carb cars dont have the baffles in them that a fi car has, and no you cant use thefuel lines, they are not set up for fi pressures, way too weak for injected useage. you could use a 280z tank or change out the lines and tap for a return line. Guest Anonymous
But since you are using a carb, I don't see why there would be any problem.
Lone Star 1
My car is a 73 240z and using stock fuel tank and lines. I run at 59 PSI and have not had a problem feeding a LS1 through the stock fuel lines. 12.65 sec at 110 MPH
Dan Juday
I think Len was refering to the rubber lines at the ends (I hope!). But that is a good testamony. There have been many discusions here about line size and material, i.e. steel, aluminum, copper, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8. Nothin' like just tring and finding out. But, like James says, since he's using a carb this is all moot. Stock will be more than adequate.
Jwink25
Thanks guys! What about that plastic tank in the hatch area? The one with the venting lines running to it? Does that have to be hooked up? I got my car in pieces...lots of pieces. So I have not had the benefit of seeing how much of it was put together. Any help here would be great. Thanks again.
