  2. Magna Charger makes a supper charger for that motor. http://WWW.MagnaCharger.com
  3. 73 240z ls1 creat motor Mangrum super chager 4l60 E out of a 98 F-body Made my own mounts Took about 2 months from time motor got here R200 limited slip 3.36 gear
  4. LS1's need a constance 59 PSI no vaccum is needed.
  5. It's very hard to say without seeing the car in person. It's hard to think that if the frame rails are as bad as you say, that all the other rust spots don't have gaping holes in them also. Are the frame rails just rusty looking or are they crumbing away? Surface rust is not a problem, but if you can poke a screw driver through the rail you've got trouble. A rotted out car will be a pain in the butt! Do a good inspection and let us know what you find. Good luck.
  6. Mike sorry to hear! That is a total bummer! Hope they are willing to fix it for free. Right free all you have to do is pull and reinstall. Againg sorry to hear!
  7. Y body ls1 Is nearly the same as an F body ls1. Main differance is the pully setup on the Y body ls1 runs about a 1" closer to the motor .They use the same block. Will the transaxal fix, I have know idea, but I assume any thin is possible!
  8. I think you'll be just fine. I'm pushing 400 RWHP and 450 FT Lbs of tork to the rear wheels. And I have had no troubles at all.
  9. Allways wanting more LOL. Yes its from a vet intake.
  10. Only 5 Lb's, and I still have stock exhaust manifolds, which are a little restrictive.
  11. Yes, by a about a 1/4 inch. I but a scoop on hood to help with heat, and motor movement.
  12. This SC'ed LS1 now makes 400HP to the wheels and 450 Ft LBs of tork. The car ran an 11.97 before the supper charger. I have not ran it at the track yet. I'm afraid it is going to be very traction limted.
  13. Tell me how to post pictures, and I'll show you how to SC a LS1 in a 73 Datsun 240Z
  14. Ck for pinched and shorted wiring. Things like AC high and low presure switch wiring also control Map sensor. Check O2 sensors, and wiring for damage also. I would bet wiring damage and computor damage is your problem. Also ck for blown fuses. Good luck!
  15. Well that looks real nice. I see you've used a corvett pully system, alternator and bracket, oil pan, and motor mounts. Are you sure sure it's from a F-body car?
  16. LS1's are hard to fill up.After you get the over flow can and 5/6" vents hooked up, fill everthing up and warm the motor up .Shut it down and as it cools water will be drawn in from the over flow can. Repeat until water in over flow can remains at constance level when cool.
  17. Looking at that first pic it looks like the upper raditor hose is crushed, or narrowed quite a bit. Not good!
  18. Hey Bill, yea I'm still alive and well, but busy with soccer. I bought a set of BF Goodrich DR's 225/50R15's but have not put them on the car yet. Car is scarry fast now and I'm afraid of breaking something. So car mostly just sets in garage, especially now that its so hot, and me with no AC in the car now. I'm still a little worried about my fuel system, low fuel pressure and boost not mix. We'll have to have another drag meet when it gets a little cooler.
  19. My first runs with the LS1 were in the hi 12's. After the Yank 3500 stall times moved into the 12.2 area. After a computor tune times were 12.1 area. After weight reduction 11.97. Now have mangrun suppercharger expecting low 11's high 10's good luck on your car. Mines a 73 also.
  20. Take note that the F body and Vett LS1's differ in that the belt runs about an inch closer to the motor on the Vett than does the f-body. The pullys are different and you can not mix.
  21. Does anyone know where to find a two or three pod gage holder for these cars? I now have a super charged LS1 and need to keep track of a few extra functions. The car made 400 RWHP and 450 ft lb's of RWT.
  22. Well it was a bad day at the dyno. On the forth pull something let go in the motor, probley a bad ring. Motor is being rebuilt with new internals. May be a week or two before its ready.
  23. Bill, I have been told by some Z owners that have gone as quick as 9 sec that the best setup is the original u-joints ( thats the u-joints that came on the cars in the early 70's) Those are the joints I have on my car. I think as long as I don't try a use to sticky of a tire I'll be fine. I'm on my way to the tunner now, so i'll let you know.
  24. Those would work, but I have already order some 225 R50 15 BF Goodrich DR's. Getting the SCer tuned tomorrow, wish me luck! Hoping for 420 + RWHP and RWT. Will find out tomorrow.
  25. I'm going to let it get cooler before I go back. Maybe when we can all get together again. I bought some 235 R60 15 DR's from Zfan(Mike) but I'm having trouble with them rubbing. If you want them I paid like $150.00 for the pair and will sell them for that. I think I'm going to try the 225 R50 15's. The 235's would work if I had the right offset, but I have 0 offset wheels.
