bowl of seeds
Hello, I am currently in the process of installing a 82 280zx distributor with the E12-80 module into my 72 240z, I purchased this distributor at a local pick-a-part for 30 bucks. The thing is I noticed the magnet that is seated beneath the ring that mounts around the reluctor is broken into several pieces.. I'm not sure exactly where to look for it, I also don't know the name for it.. I took the part to a local Autozone to see if they maybe they carried it but they had no clue! Does anyone know where I can purchase this magnet? I took a couple of pictures to help identify it, one of the ring that mounts around the reluctor and another of the underside of the ring which shows the pieces of what used to be the "magnet". Anyone know what this is?
NewZed
Did you look in the FSM? Try the Electrical section for the name. If the parts stores don't have it, try courtesyparts.com.

Wow... So it turns out courtesyparts.com does have it! Although the name is unspecific (I searched the word "magnet" on the search function) it's there.. for about $20! It's more than I expected, I'm going to do a little more searching to see if I can find a cheaper one but if not I know where to go. Thank you very much for the link! Also would you happen to have a link to the FSM?
