Anybody familar with the Lincoln 5.0 motors? I'm having a tough time finding a running 5.0 package deal in the Tulsa area. Just went to an auction where I saw a nice, fairly low milage 91 Lincoln Continental go for $500. Ran sweet. Only reason I didn't bid was that I want a 5 speed.

Not much chance of finding a 5 speed Lincoln. :D

How do they differ from the Mustang 5.0 HO motors? Would they bolt up to a Mustang T5? Would they be as tuneable for HP? 2thumbs.gif

I found a Consumer Guide review that claimed the 90-92 Lincoln 5.0 EFI engines makes 225 hp. cheers.gif

Maybe exposing my ignorance, but aren't all 5.0s iron? bonk.gif

Question remains on 5-speed mating! smile.gif

All of the SBF 5.0 motors put out that I know of were all iron. The only Lincoln 5.0 that put out 225HP that I know of was the LSC and even them I'm not sure about that. The intake will have the TB on the opposite side too I believe (shrug).

BTW LSC could be had w/a 5speed I think. Been awhile since I've looked at any of them smile.gif

Well I have a mid 80's lincoln with the 5.0 I had heard it had like 140hp.. less compression, lots of torque.. it sure is slow.. and no its not all that heavy...4600lbs on the scale.. with me in it..full of gas. (the car..not me..)

I tow my Z with it.. seems to accelerate the same as when its towing my z.. :D

200,000 + miles on it.. and it still passes emissions no probs at all....with barely routine basic maint...quite amazing really..
