Jwink25
Will a 351W fit into a 1971 240Z? I am getting my old Mustang back, and it has a 351W in it. I was wondering if it would fit in my 1971 240Z? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks guys! Its been a long time since I posted...does anybody remember me?
blueovalz
I see no reason the bigger Windsor shouldn't fit in the Z. A 302 fits fine with lots of room, and the 351 is only a little wider and taller.
Dp351zcar
Here is a link to how a 302 was fit in my Z to see if it would fit with a AOD. A 351 is a 302 with about 1.5" higher deck height but the bottom of the blocks are the same. The motor was a mockup and the car was sitting on the ground. So the motors oilpan is sitting on the ground the same as the front crossmember which was about the right height based how the balancer and front pulley fit with the steering rack. My car Don P.S. A 351 will be going into it after the idea get proven with a 302.
