dpuma8
I have the color wiring diagram for the 1976 280z but the diagram is a bit confusing. Wires lead the the fuse block but it doesn't seem like it connects to the battery or alternator. So where do I connect the fuse block wires? To the alternator or battery? If I have 10 fuses combining into one giant positive wire, do I put another larger fuse for the wire itself?
SleeperZ
The fuseblock is connected to the battery through fusible links. Definitely get a better copy of the wiring diagram -- the factory service manual is pretty good.
beermanpete
Yes, a single large fuse or fusible link is a good idea. In the original wiring the main circuit feed connects to the starter terminal through a fusible link.
dpuma8
One more question while I am at it. There is a red wire coming off the right headlight and a red/yellow coming off the left headlight. Both of these in the diagram go to the fuse block. Are these just ground wires?
beermanpete
Positive wires. The low/high beams are switch on the ground side.
