Ignition decisions...

I just got an MSD box for my birthday, and I am currently in the process of building my turbo 280Z. If I install this MSD box, would I be able to switch to the Ford EDIS system and still use the MSD? Or does the EDIS make the use of the MSD useless?

Current setup in the works

N42 Block

P90 head

N42 Non-EGR manifold

240sx TB

Megasquirt 2 with/innovate wideband

Also do I wire the MSD in to the Megasquirt?

The MSD and EDIS are not likely to play well together, and

largely pointless, as some (most?) EDIS modules appear to

have built-in multispark functionality.  I won't say it cannot be

done, but it would not be a simple splice in wiring job.

The MS2 and MSD with a single coil/dizzy setup would be

fine.

If you do use the gift MSD, it would be a good idea to wire

it up with the MS to give you control of your ignition timing,

If you go the EDIS route make sure to find another visible

project to use the thoughtful MSD gift on.
