Z Fire
I am in the process of assembling a L28 stroker motor. I do have new Eagle H- rods which do not have the cylinder wall oiling hole in the shoulder of the rod. What is better, drill the hole and potentially weaken the rods or do nothing and be without the extra lubrication ? All stock rods I have seen do have them. Any advice and experience feedback would be appreciated.
PMC raceengines
Do not drill the rods ,,,, repeat DO NOT . There is no need to oil the bore , there is lots off oil splash from the crank . i run many rods with no oil hole in L motors ,
josh817
There is a thread floating around discussing oil squirters for the underside of the pistons if you so desire. One of those how to modify your L engine books says to remove the oil bump on the side of a stock rod because there is too much oil getting up there... I suppose in race conditions.I removed my oil bump when balancing and polishing my rods. Ran just fine before I had the sudden desire to take it all apart.
