skirkland1980
I just got my cam back from delta camshaft. I have a question concerning the new specs of the cam. I measured total lobe height of 1.51" and a width of 1.24". That should equal a lobe lift of .270" @ 0 lash. Multiplied by the rocker ratio of 1.5 equals a gross lift of .405"???? That's a completely stock lift number. I was told lift would be .450". Anyone know whats up? Thanks Edited July 31, 2013 by skirkland1980
skirkland1980
So I measured lobe lift with a dial indicator. I'm getting .275". I called delta, they said I should have .300". I'm glad that they're going to take care of it. I'm just a little disappointed that they don't check their work before sending an item 2500 miles. Xnke
Delta has had problems with that, my 0.480" lift cam was 0.455". They were working with a 1.6 rocker ratio instead of the real 1.48 ratio of Nissan rockers.
skirkland1980
here's a video of the cam lobe measured with a dial indicator.

skirkland1980
I got the cam back from delta a second time and I'm highly disappointed. I measured lobe lift again with a dial indicator. Lobe lifts range from .306"-.311". I measured every lobe. Should I use this cam? Thanks.
Robftw
I would call and ask what the deal is, and for a camshaft I would use it. .05 on a cam is tolerable, I believe thats within factory specs
skirkland1980
Thanks. I called Isky and the guy in tech support that I spoke to said it should be ok. Next question, anyone ever 'mix and match' lash pads?
Robftw
As long as you get the correct wipe pattern on the rocker arm the lash pad size doesn't matter
Xnke
My Delta cam has two different lobe sizes...one for intake and one for exhaust. I used two different size lash pads, one size intakes, the other exhausts. I have three Delta regrinds this way, the intake and exhaust lobes aren't the same. They're real close, but not exactly the same lobe profile on the intake and exhaust. Same deal with my Isky custom grind, the intake and exhaust lobes are slightly different, and the cam lobes are phased about a degree and a half from the #1 exhaust lobe to the #6 exhaust lobe.
