78zstyle Posted September 22, 2013 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Good Evening, I'm in the progress of dropping in my 4l60E LT1 with JTR mounts into my 240z. However, in the book it doesn't mention a bolt size to use. Can anyone help me out on this? Another thing, when you drill through the appropriate area, is it going to come up through the interior floor so you can use nuts to secure it? The JTR book isn't very helpful. Thanks all. I made two plates with 3/8" nuts welded to them to accept the bolts for the tranny mount. Don't rely on that thin floor to hold the transmission. RebekahsZ Posted September 22, 2013 Share Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) Use a plate like deja did (a bolt with just a washer might pull thru), even if you don't weld it (mine aren't welded to the floor). Once you have test fit it and have you engine and tranny in and everything is working, put a jack under under the tranny and take those plates to a welder to have the bolts spot welded to the plate so that you can tighten those the nuts from underneath without a helper on the inside. I drop the bolts down from inside so from the interior all you see is a pretty little 3"-ish by 3"-ish painted plate with 4 bolt heads.
