RebekahsZ
Getting closer to having a roll cage built. Only issue still to be resolved is placement of the knee bar (forward cross bar). I want to keep my heater to use as a defroster since we autocross in the rain sometimes. I also listen to my radio on the way into work on sunny days, so I'd like to keep that too. I also need to be able to remove these items when they need repairs. Anybody got a neat solution/suggestion for placement of a knee bar that lets me have my cake and eat it too? If the answer is "no," I will look at the option of sacrificing my radio.
johnc
You should be willing to sacrifice comfort and convenience for safety. Another issue is smacking your head on the door hoops in a minor accident.
MONGO510
I did it . I had to cut holes in the steering column support bracket and thread it through the dash. The radio, heater, and defroster worked fine, but the center vent was inoperable. This issue is probably correctable. Mongo
roger280zx
I would keep the heat and remove the radio if only to offset the weight of the knee bar. Radio is what phones are for, right? And like johnc said, don't hit your head.
RebekahsZ
This discussion reminds me of Ralphie in A Christmas Story: "You'll shoot your eye out!"
