ElCimino Posted January 22, 2014 Share Posted January 22, 2014 In the process of upgrading my 240z to electronic ignition. I found a used 280zx distributor with the e12-80 module and purchased a MSD blaster coil part #8222. I have a wiring diagram from atlanticz.ca. I think I had read while searching this topic that some coils still need a ballast resistor in the positive line or the 450v can fry the module or the tach. Can anyone confirm this? The module on the outside of the distributor says e12-80 and 12v. Any information is appreciated. I apologize in advance if this information is listed in another forum and I have not found it yet. Stresspuppy Posted February 3, 2014 Share Posted February 3, 2014 How is it working? I have a similar setup and things work great, but the tach is off quite a bit. I'm trying to figure out how to get that right, but not having any luck. Does anyone have any ideas with this setup (280zx dizzy with 12-80 using a fairly stock coil, no resistor)? Thanks.
