Kerrigan
My 1971 Fairlady Z lost all it's ID plates and tags (engine compartment ID plate, door piller tag, etc.) when it was re-painted 4 decades ago. Could someone help me find a wrecked FairladyZ of the same vintage as this S30-nnnnn from 1971 from which the tags could be removed and sent? Trying to restore it back to "original" and the ID tags would be very helpful. Looked at the reproduction tags being sold and they are not correct for the S30 model ... If someone would like to undertake the search I'd be happy to re-imburse the expense of getting them off the car and sending them to me. Thanks!! skerry
I just went through this and I wish you luck. Do you know if you're after the series 1 or the later emblems? If you're not sure, look at your back hatch and see if you have vents(or holes for vents). The emblems are different between the series ones and the later year 240's. No vents on the hatch. 1971 .... early Z .... the emblems are fine and correct; it's the ID plate from the strut tower on the right side of the engine compartment and the tag from the door pillar. Needs to be JDM car ....
skerry
Ahh, sorry. I misunderstood what you were after. Good luck in your searching.
HS30-H
Perfect - 'blank' - replicas of the engine bay tags for Japanese market models ( including your 'S30' prefixed 1971 Fairlady Z-L ) are available from restoration shop 'REVIVE JALOPY' in Saitama, Japan. They'll even stamp them up with your chassis number if you prove 100% that you own it....

Needs to be JDM car .... Japanese market cars didn't have a door jamb tag. Your 1971 Fairlady Z-L would have had the chassis number / 'Shatai Bango' on only TWO places on the car: The engraved prefix and body serial number combination on the firewall, and the alloy tag on the strut tower in the engine bay. Nothing on the door jamb and nothing on the dash top.
Kerrigan
That's really good information; thank you! It has the engraved number on the firewall; missing the strut tower tag.

HS30-H
How do I get in touch with them? Their e-mail address is: jalopyï¼ dream.ocn.ne.jp
Kerrigan
I tried that email address and it comes back as an invalid email address format. Could you check the address again? Thank you.
HS30-H
It's a valid e-mail address, but they have it set in 'half-width' characters as an anti-spam measure. It should work if you cut and paste from the exact text and font below: jalopy@dream.ocn.ne.jp

Tony D
Is that Nishi-San? I know Car Shop Jalopy has them... Nice place, specialises in 432 and GT-R resto... I will miss seeing them next weekend at Nostalgia 2-Days in Yokohama as I am both broke, AND working... I also agree, a JDM car does not have FMVSS Compliant door pillar tags, nor a dash-mounted VIN tag (the finisher between the windshield and dashboard is not 'cut out' to reveal the VIN tag riveted to the dash substructure on North American Market Cars. Kerrigan
I'd like to contact them about a plate for the FairladyZ and have not been able to find a connection which worked. Correct, the car does not have a VIN cutout in the dash, nor a door pillar tag. Wonder about what stickers and decals were in the engine compartment ...
