7one Z
So I bought jtr kit for my 240z put the motor in looks good but not motor it looks sideways in the engine bay. does anyone have a SBC z with the jtr kit installed does it look sideway because it does in mine. the transmission bell housing is not lined up with the firewall when looking down at it. The driver side the transmission bolts are further away from the passenger side does anybody may have the problem. also is there anyone that lives in Sacramento California with v8 240z that is willing to let me look at it that might be helpful for me on my build my number is 916-289-2972 call/text
ritrebor
I believe the JTR mounts the engine offset to the passenger side to clear the steering shaft, so it will be crooked to the centerline of the car if your transmission mount is centered. MONGO510
The engine and transmission are offset approximately 1" to the right to maintain proper alignment with the differential.
Mike kZ
As stated the engine is offset, but if one side of the block is closer to the firewall the other side, the engine is cocked. You were supposed to slot the mounts, so you can move the block back or forward, and of course to make it straight.
