thezguy Posted July 9, 2014 Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) A few of you might be aware but for those who are not i made some "custom" Datsun hats that are for sale in the group buy section. Well I got a lot of flack from the wife that the old school Datsun logo looks like the pepsi sign she is constantly reminding me that she thinks its ugly. Well yesterday on our flight home from Honduras there was a male flight attendant who complimented me on the hat when i stepped on board. We had a brief chat about his 510's and my 280 before taking my seat. I told my wife that the hat was awesome and she wouldn't understand. The entire flight this particular flight attendant was bringing us extra drinks/food and even gave us a free bottle of champagne that was left on board from the previous trip. When i thanked him as we where disembarking he literally said it was all becuase of the hat! She was extremely impressed in the Dastun brotherhood It was a cool experience. Tony D Posted July 13, 2014 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I walked into the Circle K near the house wearing my "Datsun 240 Z BRE" mechanics shirt. East Indian lady looks at me and smiles broadly. I figure it's just being polite. Get to the register and she's just STARING at my shirt and grinning like an afflicted simpleton... Like her mind was TOTALLY gone... I ask, "What? Is there a bug on me or something?" She is still smiling, and says in an almost Simpsonesque Stereotypical East Indian Lilt: "Your Datsun shirt! Oh, I remember we had a little Datsun car when I was a child. My family loved that car. We went absolutely everywhere in that little car. It never once let us down! I miss that little old Datsun car! Oh, such HAPPY memories of our little Datsun!" I paid, and as I was going off, she remains gazing in between near-nothing and far-away grinning and reliving her happy Datsun Days!
