Meguiars
Is there anyone who has mounted IAC on 280z intake manifold here? I have a screw in GM Stepper motor that i want to use with my ms2extra setup? I have tryed to search alot on google but no luck, there has to be one that have done this before me. I dont want to use on /off valve but the 4 pin stepper motor to get more control and smoother idle since i have AC and some other stuff that use power. Any ideas?? I was thinking aboute this but way to expensive if i dont know if it will work, this is just the housing that i think will be plug&play on my old AC idle up valve on the intake. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FAST-IAC-Housing-Adapts-Ford-to-GM-307022-/201134128511?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ed4873d7f&vxp=mtr here is the valve i i bought in a hurry. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261321739167?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Six_Shooter
Technically I'm using a GM IAC motor on my L28 intake... I'm using a GM throttle body, that has IAC provisions. Just FYI, the PWM motors, such as the FORD IAC valve, are not just simply on and off. By varying the PWM signal it will control how far the pintle in the IAC valve opens. I assume this is for use with a MegaSquirt system?
Meguiars
Hi thanx for the answer, yes this is for use with Megasquirt ms2extra system. i thought it was on/off since it only have 2 wires that goes in to it, the bottom of it looks alot like the AC idle up valve i allready have on the intake i was hoping that it was i direct swap. here is a picture of the pwm valve from Ford. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Idle-Air-Control-Valve-FORD-Escort-Fiesta-Mondeo-1-6i-1063996-IAC-/150876440059?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2320efc5fb here is the one i would like to change. Damn, cant upload pictures
74Adam
Would there be enough room on one of those throttle body spacers? I'm thinking it might be too tight but it's something I've thought about. Six Shooter, what kind of GM throttle body? What size?
Six_Shooter
Would there be enough room on one of those throttle body spacers? I'm thinking it might be too tight but it's something I've thought about. Six Shooter, what kind of GM throttle body? What size? I'm using a throttle body from a 3400 (3.4L V6), because I have a few, and have all the connections I needed for my Delco ECM. It's 56mm. There are plenty of others of various sizes that will work. This is just what I had on hand to use. It required a custom adapter. Here is probably the best picture I have uploaded of the adapter and throttle body: Here is the engine as it is running that shows the bracket and cable attached: It wouldn't clear when I was using a dizzy (first few months after my conversion), so I simply flipped it over: Edited July 29, 2014 by Six_Shooter
Namor
Similar to the adapter posted, http://www.jayracing.com/haltech-c-41_42_166/haltech-idle-air-control-housing-incl-fittings-p-1112.html Designed to be used with GM stepper motor. Plenty of information on the internet regarding its use.
