Stew63lq4tt
To all, I have a basket case 1970 240Z I purchased and I've never worked on a Z before. Since I didn't take the car apart and now I'm putting it back together with no prior Z experience I'm stumped in some areas. One of which is what to make of what looks to be a core plug left open on the left side of the block. Now the block is a 2.8 and it looks to be the furthest core plug forward on the drivers side of the vehicle in the photo attached (generic search photo). When I google it, a lot of the long blocks show them missing and I'm not sure why. It was the only hole in the block left open, and because of this I am curious if I should throw a plug in there or if it serves another purpose? Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Stew

Stew63lq4tt
Thanks for the quick reply. Does anyone sell the tube in the aftermarket? Can't track mine down and want to know what my options are.
TimZ
Thanks for the quick reply. Does anyone sell the tube in the aftermarket? Can't track mine down and want to know what my options are. Here's one from a ZX - it appears to be a bit bigger than the earlier ones. If you watch ebay it probably won't take long for an earlier one to show up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/79-83-DATSUN-280ZX-PCV-VALVE-HOSE-FITTING-TUBE-TO-BLOCK-VENT-NICE-OEM-PARTS-/221435102477?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338e8f850d&vxp=mtr
