Mackay10
Hello, I'm partway through l28et 280z swap. 82 turbo l28. Purchased a supposed 81 turbo ecu&harness on zcar classifieds .The ecu numbers come up as a 1981.5 ecu however the harness has no dropping resistor pack connector. Only fuel pump modulator and ign harness connectors. can I used this ecu and run dropping resistors inline with the injectors or is there a better way? Thank you to anyone who responds with good advice. I have searched and found similar circumstances but not this exact ecu harness combo: zcar, atlanticz, hybrid,z home,z driver ect
dexter72
I don't think you can use that harness because it should be set up for a front crank sensor and the 82-83 engines don't use that setup to run the engine. Not sure about the ignitor or injector setup. It may be better for you to get an 82 or 83 harness and ecu. Or install a standalone setup if you can't get what you need. Do more research and let others chime in.
Mackay10
Yes I continue to research. The crank CAS plugged right in at the dizzy. Everything seems pretty straightforward except that resistor pack. Thank you for reply
loy
Yes you can use the harness. Add the resistor in line with the injectors.
Mackay10
Thank you for the info. I also have a crane hi 6 with ps92 coil. Do I still need the stock igniter that is attached to the stock coil bracket or is that replaced by the hi 6 setup? Thanks again
