Logoleaf Posted May 12, 2015 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Hi everyone, Can someone please give me some instructions of how to add in free-play length for order a custom half shaft? For example: if my measurement from end to end is 14" driver side and 11" passenger side, how much should add in for free-play? I'm in the process of r230 conversion. boosted300 Posted May 21, 2015 Share Posted May 21, 2015 I'm not sure about all custom CV shaft makers, but with DriveShaft Shop for instance, all you need to do is measure from the inside of the stub axle to the input sleeve of the differential and they make the necessary length for you. They provide instructions on what they need and how to measure on their website. I measure according to their instructions and they made me what I needed.
