Once you get into modding it though, forget cam replacement $$$, reprogramming? hmm. Neat factor yes, but PITA and it would probably always remain close to stock, something more common easier to mod and get more power out of. Blckmgck, that's the older 1UZ from the early gen LS400's and SC400's. It can be done as a few have done it already but it's a pretty tight fit. Wider than the LS1. You know what'd be cool? The 2Uz I-force motor from a Toyota Tundra bored and stroked to 5.3L, late 90's LS400 heads, compression dropped to 8.5L and a serious Vortech or turbo kit.
