TGDatsun
I'm about to begin my swap of a Ls1/ls6* into a 280z and had a question as I couldn't find a answer on the forums. I'm using JCI's full kit as it seems the way to go after reading up on it;however,I was wondering for the swap will I need to take off the truck intake and swap on a ls1/let intake or if the truck intake will fit under the hood. Thank You. Edited August 18, 2015 by RB26powered74zcar
Jay Gadsby
Welcome to the site. Some times the answers on here require a little digging as they are part of a build or an unrelated thread. The truck intake does need swapped. It will not clear a stock hood without modification. Good luck with the swap.
ktm
If you are going to swap intakes and want to save a bit of coin on a performance intake, look for an LS6 model which can be had for around $400ish. Saying that, LS1 intakes are dirt cheap since no one wants them. Another great resource for LSx swaps, if you have not already found out, is LS1tech.com. Ryan Merrill
The truck intake will hit the hood and is too tall. Looking inot LS1/Ls6 intake or BBK SSI, or Fast
Phantom
Where in Washington are you? My '77 280Z is the car that the JCI kit was developed on back in 2003. If you have any questions give me a shout.
