silvax11
after months of reading different topics and build threads its time to start my build. ive been putting parts together for a while. saving up to start a winter build. building a universal track/autocross/drift/street build. this is not my daily. the goal is reliability with a competitive car. bought a 74 260z shell so im starting from the ground up. going back and forth with an engine set up. some input from anyone whos built an l28 turbo would be appreciated. the main debate is can this be done? i want to stick with an l28 because its what an s30 came with. but id like to modernize it. (just to get running) stock l28 block. 280zx turbo head? megasquirt. fuel injected. coil on plug. larger/low boost turbo. 350 hp. if this cant be done then its back to the drawing board. transmission : ive seen debates on the 350z transmissions and the t56. has anyone made an adapter for these to the l28 yet? dexter72
5spd 280ZXT's came with the trans you need. No need for an adapter. You can do the l28 NA-T, just get turbo parts for it. Not sure about a larger, low boost turbo. Camshaft and headwork.. Professional head porting can get your horsepower goals nicely.
