marcel82
Hi Folks, would you help me do choose appropriate paint for the wheels? I saw step by step instructions in the Internet. I want to repaint the steel rims, but I have any background as for the paint. What can you recommend me to take? thanks
johnc
Media blast, clean out the media from the rim/center gap, wipe down with Prep Sol, prime with any good automotive primer, paint with any good automotive semi-gloss black paint - 2 or 3 light coats. Thanks, I took the sandpaper to start the process. You wrote about the semi-gloss black paint. Can I try this black paint? https://www.mrosupply.com/paint-painting-supplies/spray-paint/1386194_k07908000_krylon/ However, this brand is not automotive. Do you you know anything about plasti dip? Many people use it.
NgoZ
You can get most of the items from autozone. Duplicolor and VHT. I redid my truck rims in graphite and then diamond cleared them with a satin finish. Was easy and took my time. Only took a weekend. Been holding strong for 4+ years. I never had any luck with Plastidip, I tried one rim and a hood and hated the wavy effects when its hard to even out.
