Evan Purple240zt
Hey guys whatsup, i forgot to mention this. More progress on the z. I pressurized my fuel system to go leak hunting last week. I dont have the car here, but need some advice. I tested the fuel pressure at 50psi... my fuel rail leaks (very slowly) I can fix this without much trouble. Here is my dilemma, it takes like 20 seconds for the fuel pressure to hit the 50psi mark on my gauge. Is this too long? Here are a couple causes i have considered if this is abnormal. A) Low battery voltage (dont think this is it, my battery seemed to have alot of juice). Not enough fuel in the tank (I tested it on two gallons of fuel in the stock FI gas tank). C) Could the leaky rail have caused pressure to build too slowly? Alright guys, i want to know what to look for next time i get home and fix this. Any ideas out there? Or is this situation normal? Just for background, i have .5 inch hard line to the engine compartment. SX fuel pump and regulator. Fram fuel fiter (like scotties). Nothing else super special. I could hear the gas going into the tank through the return line which is good. My fuel pump is also mounted level with the output lline on the fuel tank, so its not pulling fuel up hill. Thanks guys!- Evan PS... it was truely a thrill to see the fuel pressure rise with so few problems! I was expecting the thing to be like a sprinkler. *progress is a beautiful thing*
SleeperZ
I was thinking, 2 gallons should be enough, but then you said you have 1/2" line!! Maybe you should try another gallon or two, that is huge fuel line, especially for an EFI system. Just my thoughts, FWIW
