Guest scca
Tom was the first to send his order in... he's done his homework.. here's the way it should look EM-3D Optional Fuel Pump Relay Optional Fast Idle 2 Bar Map Sensor Installation Manual Will be using low impedance injectors(420cc) Backlit LCD TPS kit 5/16 D shaft,CW Rotation FYI this setup nets out at $879.60 shipped.. seems like a good deal to me! actually i think my personal system will be identical to this.. ( imight spring for the coil packs still deciding..) add up the pricing on the net subtract 20% and add approx $20 for shipping.. Guest Anonymous
Since it's so easy to ask here..... anyone know what the difference is between the 2 E systems on their web site? I just got off the phone with scca and I think I got him confused too! They have the systems listed http://www.sdsefi.com/prices.html <<<< there and I got lost as to the difference between the 2 E systems. I want to use a msd box and the distributor only to distribute the spark. I'm lost. You win a cookie if you can answer before scca finds the answer! ------------------ Morgan http://z31.com/~morgan/s30 http://carfiche.com
Scottie-GNZ
if I recall, the E comes standard with an MSD coil and resistor and the 2nd option is for use with an MSD CD unit like the 6A. In that case the MSD coil is a delete option. ------------------ Scottie 71 240GN-Z Scottie's GNZ
Guest Tom Scala
Drax, the stock turbo injectors are low impedance.
Drax240z
Just for clarification, can someone verify for me that the stock turbo injectors are high impedence? Order is sent, just wanted to make sure I had that correct. ------------------ Drax240z 1972 240z - L28TURBO transplant on the way! Guest Anonymous
Just for shits-n-giggles: The only difference is that for low impedance injectors they put dropping resitors in the wiring harness. Otherwise there is no difference. That said, I'd tell them you have low impedance injectors to get the resistors wired in. Then to use high impedance injectors, you simpy short past the resistors. This will let you have the resistors already in place with no extra cost/work in the future, because presumably you will be getting new injectors at some point in the future, right? If not, why spend the bucks on an sds with the stock injectors? I'm pretty sure the stockers are ..... hell I'm not sure either way so I won't say what amounts to not much more than a WAG Grab an ohmmeter and make sure when you hook them up so you don't cook something. ------------------ Morgan http://z31.com/~morgan/s30 http://carfiche.com
stony
hey this is an old post but ill ask the question... what is the difference in preformance between hi and lo impedence injectors.... the rb-26 has low impedence injectors (Stock). i want to upgrade and hi imp inj look alot cheaper then the lo imp inj. any body have experience with this mod... going from low to hi imp injectors with SDS. do you just take out the resistor pack and reconect the wires? thanks stony
stony
nevermind about the pricing... the lows are cheaper then the hi imp injectors ( big ones atleast ) still would like to know what the differences are between them are thanks stony
Drax240z
Dunno Stony, I've been looking at injectors the last couple of days for my first upgrade as well. (I really should get the car going before I plan on upgrading more) I figure I'll be looking for something in the 420cc-440cc range. Have you found any good sources for low or high impedence injectors with that flow rate?
TimZ
In general, high impedance injectors have slower turn-on and turn-off times, which means that they will have less useable range. In other words, if you go with a high impedance injector that will flow enough for a high performance application, chances are that you won't be able to get them to work right at idle. For a performance application, stick with low impedance injectors. Why do the OEMs use them, you ask? The low impedance means that they can be driven by lower current drive circuitry, which is cheaper. Also, overall power consumption is lower, which is also important to an OEM. I've heard that the low impedance injectors have a longer service lifetime, too.

Guest Anonymous
Clearly I don't come here often enough to keep up. Are you guys working a group buy with SDS? I'm not really ready, but hate to miss out on something good. Someone reply directly, please.
Guest scca
i was the SDS arranger..... so to those that are looking for systems now or in the future just drop me a email.....
