Waders
My window crank (A) came off the gear (B.), the spring is still in but I dont know if i can push against the spring and fit the crank (A) back in where the teeths (B.) are without taking it out of the door panel. Its hard to explain, look at pictures. Thanks in advance for the help.
Villeman
did you remove the hand crank? Or did the connection between the two pinions break? With spring, do you mean that one? http://woodworkerb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/WindowCrank2.jpg Edited November 4, 2016 by Villeman
Waders
Hand crank is removed. Just the big gear with teeth like in the picture, B , came off the crank.
Waders
The connection between the pinions snapped off. Nothing is broken, as much as I can see. Just wondering how to put it back. And if I can do it without take the regulator out Edited November 4, 2016 by Waders
z240
The spring pressure is easy to overcome, it's easy to restart the gears meshing again. Now whether you can do in the door depends on your dexterity and patience. Go play, you'll figure it out. What year Z are we working on? The 77/78 regulators and window track systems are unique, and the advice will vary about getting the window out if you need to do that. z240
yes you would have to turn the handle to get the gears to mesh. I have a couple of really good regulators for you if it goes there. Shouldnt, just have to get your gears to mesh.
