DeanoWidaMK
Hi all, I recently discovered my MK Patrol is only running on five cylinders, i wont act like i know the layout or a great amount on the L28's so i will just say it is the, 6th? closest to the firewall either way, all others fire. the culprit has spark and plenty of compression, that leaves me to eliminate the valves being all gummed up or to tight. i believe it isnt getting any fuel. anyway if you blokes know anything it'd be real handy before i butcher the manifold to see if the intake is gummed. side note for the Aussies that may have mq/mk patrols, my compliance plate is for a sd33t installed in her, but its got a l28 and nothing to show whether it is engineered or legal, should i be worried? u know with the whole 4wd crackdown. cheers guys. bunkhouse
A bit of research on Wikipedia shows that the sd33t was powered by a turbo diesel. That said, I'm going to assume that your L28 is fuel injected. Likely the injector on #6 is either not firing or gunked up based on the reported good compression and spark. A long screw driver used as a stethoscope will tell you if it's clicking like all the others. If it does click, the injector is probably plugged.
