MOJO13
I have a T5 and a 79 Chevy 350 engine and I am having trouble finding a starter that lines up properly. Any help would be appreciated.
DavyZ
I'm assuming you have T5 with a 153 tooth flywheel. I have the same and use a medium-duty starter I found on a 305 V8 Camaro. According to JTR, you should be able to use a heavy duty starter that came on the 153 tooth flywheels on 1982-1992 V8 Camaros with automatic transmissions. Guest greimann
You also might want to look into one of those high torque mini starters from Tilton or the like. They have a double bolt pattern that will allow you to use it with a 153 or 168 tooth flywheel. They are also impervious to the hot starter - no start problem that Chevy starters are famous for.
