sscottbutler
I have a 77 280z with stock l28 & fuel injection. It wouldn't start so we replaced the battery and it started and ran well for a few weeks. I replaced the battery again but it didn't work this time. The starter won't turn over at all. We have checked all the connections on the battery and all relays and solenoids with no loose or broken connections. I'm thinking it could be the switch, a relay, or fuse or maybe the solenoid or starter but not sure where to start. Any ideas would be appreciated. rossman
My guess...the starter is dead. Does it even make a click or buzz from the starter when you turn the key? Have you tried jumping the battery straight to the solenoid? Were you getting 13 - 14v at the battery when it was running? Did you check the fusible links? sscottbutler
Unfortunately my son has the car with him out of state so I am limited to what I can have him check. i don’t know if the starter is clicking or not. he did try to “jump” the starter by touching the terminal on the starter but I’m not sure if he was touching the high current terminal on the solenoid or starter itself. Whatever he touched did not turn the starter. he checked the fusible links connection but I’m not sure about continuity
