Luce
I have a 1970 Datsun 521 with a 1985 Z31 300ZX N/A engine and drivetrain. Because of the small cabin I would like to add airconditioning to my car. I would like to use a vintageair system, and am doing some research into how to get a ac compressor to work. As far as I can tell a Z31 never had ac from the factory, is this correct? At vintageair they recommend a Sanden SD 508 compressor. Is mating this type of compressor to a VG30e doable? Thanks in advance for your kind responses. If any of these questions seem stupid, please excuse me. I am new to this type of car and engine. cgsheen
Here in the U.S. the 1984-1988 300ZX (Z31) with factory A/C used a Hitachi MJS170 compressor. The 1989 Factory Service Manual lists a model DKS-16H (Diesel-Kiki make). You can get the Factory Service Manuals for the U.S. model Z31 at nicoclub.com...
