Mike C
No reason to. The Jeep motor makes good torque but lousy HP. It weighs a ton. The Nissan motor will respond better to mods than the jeep motor. Because of Jeep CJ's, you can adapt almost any trans to the AMC motor, but a SBC will be cheaper, easier, faster. Or the Nissan motor will be a lot more fun with a 6000 rpm redline instead of 4.5k, unless you spend big bucks with Clifford 6=8.
jeromio
I think a Cummins I6 would be much more worthwhile.
Guest Anonymous
I have a Jeep 4.0L in my Cherokee. Its big, low reving, and got lots of torque. Great for a truck motor but I wouldn't want one in a sports cars.
Guest zline
i've seen this done...the Z was lifted too -- its a swap you do if you wanna take your Z 4 wheelin...not go fast.
Guest SeanyD300zxT
I have a model of the 4L inline 6 in my commanche...and to put it simply I find it to be a very useless motor. normally everything has it's 'niche' like oh...hondas may be slow..but they're good on gas and reliable....some are reliable..some have really high peaky power...others have good power bands.....other than the 5-1500RMP this motor has torque.....thats pretty much the limit of it's usefulness. so somany better motors out there
