Guest Anonymous
is there any difference between the engine in a 280zx turbo, compared to a 280zx turbo 2+2? i want to do a turbo swap into my '76 280z and was just wondering if i should grab the 2+2 engine or wait for a coupe engine to turn up. thanks! SleeperZ
I don't believe there is any difference. I put a L28T from a ZX 2+2 in my '78 coupe.
Guest scca
no difference -- but i wonder if the 2+2 turbo has the bigger flywheel so it would be BETTER than the coupe one... ------------------ Mike mike@fonebooth.com http://www.outlaw-brakes raceparts and brake upgrades. Drax240z
2+2's, turbos and 2+2 turbos, all had 240mm flywheels to the best of my knowledge. There should be no difference between the engines in the 2+2 turbos, and the turbo coupes. ------------------ Richard Lewis
Guest scca
i thought when i checked the centerforce part # the turbo was different from a 2+2?
Guest Tim78zt
S30, the advice I got when I swapped was to keep the flywheel from my 78 coupe as it was supposed to be a little lighter than the turbo flywheel from the 81 zx and stay away from lighter flywheels because some weight was good for absorbing driveline shock. I don't believe there is any difference between coupe and 2+2 motors. Tim
